I've been using Abaddon for a few games recently, and have been really impressed in all but 1 game. (In 15-20 turns of combat over 3 games, which is about as much as you need Abaddon in combat for, i only rolled a 1 once.)
But i want to change the list I have been using, as i don't think its as effective as it could be, so need some help doing so.
What i have atm:
Abddon 275
Daemon Prince (Wings, MOS, Lash) 155
Dreadnought (2x CCW, HF) 105
Dreadnought (2x CCW, HF) 105
Zerkers x8 (SC W/PF) 208
Plagues x5 (2x Melta) 135
Plagues x5 (2x Melta) 135
2x Rhino (1 Combi-melta each) 90
Land Raider (Deamonic Possession, Combi-melta) 250
Vindicator (DP) 145
Vindicator (DP) 145
1748
Now, with this list the most successful part have been Abaddon and the Daemon Prince. With the Zerkers having a bit of effect in 2/3 out of 6 games, the Plagues only really doing anything on note once or twice. The Dreads have been ok, but not wonderful. And the Vindicators like to fail a bit, although they have done well to an extent.
What i have to play with:
Kharn, 3 more Rhinos, 1 more Dread, 24 Plagues overal, 2 Preds, Possibly another Land Raider, Nurgle DP, 7 Chosen, 5 Terminators/Oblits (probably going to convert them), 5 Possessed. I could also probably borrow some Chaos stuff from a friend who doesn't use his Chaos.
I'm really not sure what to do from here, i would quite like to keep Abaddon and the Daemon Prince (definatly keeping Abaddon in this list, i have a non-abaddon list that i like and can use). One option is to use Kharn as well and go for two Land Raiders, but thats very hit and miss.
So any help would be really appreciated.

I really like Abaddon too and have used him a in a couple of games and I have to say that I think he's a great beatstick (when he's not killing himself  )
So I'd recommend something like this:
1. Abaddon - 275
2. Daemon Prince (Wings, MOS, Lash) - 155
3. 5 Plague Marines (2 Meltas in rhino) - 170
4. 5 Plague Marines (2 Meltas in rhino) - 170
5. 5 Plague Marines (2 Meltas in rhino) - 170
6. 8 Khorne Berzerkers ( SC, PF) - 208
7. Land Raider (Combi-Melta, DP) - 250
8. Vindicator ( DP) - 145
9. Vindicator ( DP) - 145
this comes to 1688pts. and gives you 62pts. to mull over

You know what, I like your list for the most part. But, lets be honest, you have 1750pts of army with 18 troops making up 3 squads with no consistant/reliable long range AT. If one of those troops have to sit back to camp a objective, they are effectivily out of the fight with those melta guns, because Gods know your not camping the home objective with Abby and the Zerkers in that LR.

My first list was very simular to Iranna's list, except I had Terminators (with MoCG) instead of a LR (and the Oblits) with all the squads having Personal Icons so you would be DSing Abby in with the Terminators. I also had Plasma guns instead of Melta guns and 3 extra Plague Marines and 7 Zerkers. Then I changed it some, dropping the extra Plagues for more Terminators and equipment to keep them all unique. Then I remembered you saying you only had 5 Terminator figs to use as Oblits/Terminators, so having 7-9 of those figs in the army were to much. I also only had 1 havoc launcher in my first list, but by giving all the Plagues meltas it replaces the need for combi-meltas and the Havocs gives you a good anti-Infantry punch as well as more blast markers to drop on a Lashed unit. Wish I could keep some Plasmas, but you seriously need the AT.
I kinda like this refined list, and again Iranna and I seemed to be on the same wave lenth here... not that you left us alot of options. You wanted Abby and he has to get into the fight... he has 3 choices... DS, LR, or Foot slog. All 3 options need support some way and Abby is expensive as it is, so this was going to be a major part of your list. Either it was Zerkers in a LR (738pts in one vehicle) or Abby in a Terminator Squad with all the units having personal Icons (505-ish pts). Obviously foot slogging was eliminated as an option IMO, though if he was in the Zerker squad it would be only 483pts, the cheapest option. That option is still a hefty chunk of your points.

I had origionally thought of Oblits for his HS choises too but I thought that the vindicators may be better for the target saturation aspect in trying to keep Abaddon's Land Raider up and running.

Yeah, I hear you, but I decided Oblits over the Vindys because they tend (or at least feel) like they scatter less. Specially if you DP them and make them BS 3. If I am going to scatter (or have the chance to scatter), I would rather have that 4 over the 3. Besides, the Oblits techinally have a better survival rate due to the Invuln save and the addition of Lascannons and other longer than 24" range weapons I think give him a touch more versitility.
