I'm just wondering what the "best" transport for a unit of Death Company is.

I like a good ol' fashion drop pod.

It allows me to direct (-ish) my raging marines at whatever I need them to smash. And after they take care of that they can wreak havok wherever they like. This has served me well against most IG and Ork lists. Only problem I've seen with it is 'Nids... Death Company doesn't handle MC well...

They keep me from spending too much on the unit (200+upgrades max) plus it'd the cheapest of BA vehicles.

And then there's always the added bonus of the contesting unit that people tend to forget about even though it's got a storm bolter/deathwind dropping every turn.

Personally, Drop Pods have always been my go to ride for Death Company.

Thoughts? Criticism? Comments?

If Warhammer has taught me anything, it is that anything and everything can be solved by violence.

Have you tried litanies of hate and 3 power weapons versus MCs? It hurts.

But yeah, Drop Pods are definitely the way to go for DC. As cool as I've seen rhinos painted up, Drop pods can get the same treatment.
Opponents know that the DC is bringing a hurting. They can direct fire at a rhino/stormaven/landraider and maybe stop it. They can do almost nothing against a drop pod in terms of delivery.

That said, the other vehicles can be used to scoop up another unit once the ragers pile out. Delivery service by drop pod negates assaulting with them the turn they arrive, allowing the opponent to shoot them.

Ive found that Storm ravens can be a nice punch to what DC lack, long range shooting. Bloodstrike missiles and whatever you outfit the SR with, its always useful.

I suppose it depends on what sort of opponents you face. If you face stuff on foot, a DP is probably fine. Against mech, though, not being able to assault the turn you arive is a problem. You'll be slow on foot, and have a good chance of being forced to chase something faster than you.

I think a Stormraven is the best all-around ride. It gets them there fast, and if you reserve it, you'll at least be able to get to midfield once it's available, which cuts the risk somewhat.
