i understand the concept of this list. I personally like thirsters over the keeper. i love soul grinders one of my favorite models in the game.i think you need for troops maybe letters

I get where your coming from but I feel that keepers are better in the sense that I10 means you auto run down fleeing units (most of the time anyway) and the extra attacks are nice too not to mention that the KOS can kill mephiston before he can land a blow on he/she/it

Also, the point of the troops is more to sit on objectives than to fufill any CC roll (letters tend to be slow and die faster than PBs :3 )

All that being said a KOS and thirster combo is interesting but again, in CC the KOS is king....or queen...or...well you get the idea lol

What a fun list! I am a huge fan of the KOS. Like you said that I10 allows you to quickly dispatch enemy units, go ahead and keep them both and raise hell. The only glaring problem with your list is that you will get shot to death very quickly, waves and reserve rolls being how they are... you may not make it past the 3rd round. I love Soul Grinders but I think you need more wounds out there as is. Might you consider dropping them for a good amount of daemonettes? It would give you even more potential scoring units and more importantly.. wounds to sustain one solid round of shooting. You can fit in two squads of sixteen and if you drop the instruments on the plaguebearers you can give them both icons!

Be careful with your KOS, he is very fragile, do your best to keep him alive until you get your fiends into combat.

Why not go full themed and give yourself some threatening scoring units? You could drop a unit of Fiends, a Grinder, and the Plagues and take around 40 Daemonettes in 3 or 4 units. The list is very solid as is, I'm just a fan of full themed lists and troops that do something other than camp objectives. If you are skilled at using your KoS you will do very well with Daemonettes, they can also hold things down while you Hit and Run away with the KoS and Fiends. Good stuff as is though.

The deamonettes are cheaper than the PB but I understand you want for PB, Get more in the units tho, 7 (heh) work well as that's what i roll them in.


I'd wanna say i like it with the grinders but when i first played C:CD i was running a KOS and grinders, quickly changed to heralds and DP's.


IDEA: beef up the PBs, fiends can stay, keep the KOS but drop might as they're MCs anyways and monsters to boot. KEEP MUSK! that being said....

drop all three grinders, with that 480 points to spare you can have 3 MOS DP's with iron hide, pavane, aura of aquisence, that would be amazing not only throwing down 5 MCs in this list but 3 of which who can bring the enemy closer to them or other units, so amazing!

I agree with a lot of the points made here and I'm starting to see now that DPs will be the way ford as opposed to grinders lol

As far as themed lists go I've got a fluffy all slaanesh list in my posts but this ones more for serious games

I was thinking of dropping a kos in place of 2 tzeentch heralds on chariots with bolt and master of sorc, its cheeper and can be a bit more of a threat to tanks....problem is I dont wanna lose a keeper :,(

I wouldn't worry so much about trying to throw in more dakka in the list. With the amount of fiends and MC's you have anti mech should come easy.

Instruments on 5 plague bearers won't do anything. If they actually get assaulted, you won't have enough attacks remaining to actually tie - the only way its possible is if you lose 1 or 2 models and kill exactly that many, a pretty uncommon feat.

Fiends get a lot better with might, combine your plaguebearer squads into two squads of 14, which combined with the instruments will give you the points you need.

I'd be interested to see this list in action, I run a 'daemonzilla' that instead of soul grinders has nurgle princes but it sure is expensive!

EDIT - I think unholy might/transfixing gaze is a good combo on a keeper of secrets. If he assaults a tank that is 14 around, needing 7 instead of 8 is a big improvement. Also - gaze + might makes the keeper a great MC assassin. Might sound a bit silly, but going first with 7 attacks that will likely have favorable to-hit and to-wound rolls will help a lot. The gaze takes off one of their limited attacks, and if you have 5 points to spare for an instrument you can win any ties you'd get (which happens pretty often in MC vs. MC). Unholy Might will also help fighting dreadnoughts, as the keeper is one of the best choices to do it w/ gaze.
