Does anyone have any inside information on this? I heard they were opening one up in Atlanta, but I don't know where it'll be.

GW is also opening a shop in Orlando, Florida as well. I've already met the manager for the shop when he was being trained. Florida has been waiting for GW for a long time.

Nothing about GW in the " official shopping center page." yet..
But I believe this is the center the new shop is supposed to be located at...

Did he give you the date he plans on opening doors? Do you think a store will be successful in Sandy Springs? I know there is a few comics stores in that area, but that's the closest to gaming it gets.

I hope he does well, from what I understood, its not going to be for gaming per say, I think Ken said he's only got 2 tables and one is reserved for demos, but I could be misremembering. He didn't know the exact date of opening, but he thought it would be late July, early August. Honestly, I can't speak to how successful it will be, but it has a great start in that Ken seems like a really enthusiastic guy that is there because he loves the game, so that should help him sell the game (because in the end, 40k & Fantasy are awesome worlds)

do you live in Sandy Springs? We have alot of regulars here that are from there.

I live in Gwinnett county, I've been out to your store, and it's great, but it's quite a hike to make it over there with any regularity.

I'm actually a bit ashamed that I have yet to make it in to Giga-Bites, seeing as I live fairly close by.
But in my defense ...life has been a bit hectic .
Hope to check it out soon.

Finally a store within 30 minutes of downtown Atlanta!
The great thing about this store is it's across the street from one of my favorite restaurants, Cafe Sunflower, and it's in the vicinity of my doctor's office and several other places I frequent.

I just wish that I could get a store within walking distance of my house. We ITP folks are spoiled by convenience...
And if it was within walking distance, I could play on Saturdays (observant Jew -- can't drive on Shabbat).

But wouldn't waging war in the grim dark future be considered work?

Technically, no. Not in the halakhic sense, anyway. So long as my stuff is in the store and I'm not transporting anything back and forth, I'm good to game.

While considering the idea of hosting wargames at a synagogue, an interesting idea just came to mind: combine an FLGS and a multi-religious institution, so everyone can just go straight from their religious services of choice to gaming. After all, for many of us gaming is already more sacred than most other things in our lives, so it works out.
We would, of course, have to include a Chaos temple.
