I have a question about the Chimera; some guy I was playing against says that even though its a transport, it is a heavy vehicle meaning I can only fire 1 weapon on it and no weapons when moving 12 inch

I always thought the Chimera had fast attack rules

Also can the guys inside the Chimera fire after the Chimera has moved 12 inches?

The Chimera is neither fast attack nor Heavy. The Chimera is a dedicated transport. Look in its unit entry, does it say "Fast vehicle" anywhere? No? Then it's not a fast vehicle, is it?

It's none of those. It's just a regular dedicated transport. Heavy Vehicle isn't even an actual term. I have no idea what he's talking about. The way I recall it... You can fire from the fire points if you move less than 6'. But I could be wrong. I always screw that up

They couldn't even if it was a SuperFast Mega Assault Transport, unless that vehicle actually has rules to permit it. BRB pg 66, Fire Points. Passengers may not fire if the vehicle moves at Cruising speed. Fast transport or not, no exceptions are given in the basic rules.

A normal vehicle can fire all weapons if stationary, one weapon over S4 and any weapons S4 or less if moving 6" or under and no weapons if moving over 6".

A fast vehicle is different but chimeras are not fast.

Embarked units may not fire if the vehicle moves over 6" regardless of being fast or not.

Chimeras are neither fast nor heavy.

So that guy was right in that the Chimera can only fire one weapon on the move, and no weapons if it moves faster than 6".
