I'd like to push my Tale of Gamers blog on you once again with another battle report.

http://taleofgamers.wordpress.com

This time my Empire faces off against Rob's Dwarfs, a match that we've both been eagerly waiting for.

At only 750 points it's still a small game. But we're moving up to 1000, so things are going to start heating up!

Thanks for checking it out.

Good little battle! Looks fun. I can't believe he missed the tower with that many cannon shots.

Couple rules bits: Gyro can't march and shoot, and still has to roll for partials. Longbeards are immune to panic, so shouldn't run from shooting casualties.

Anyhow, definitely reminds me how fun little games can be! Thanks for posting.

Hey RZ,
Yeah, we had some good laughs (more me than him) with all those cannon misses. One time he overshot it (although in the report I said undershot) with a 10, just past the tower. The rest were under sometimes by very little.
I'm going to have to give him some points on proper cannon etiquette

Thank you for those clarifications! I'll have to let him know about both, as they can both really affect a game.
Dang Rob, always cheating

We'll get the rules down right ONCE before we stop playing!

Another cool battle guys, keep them up! Also I thought the greatswords did their job well... Not many empire units can do no wounds while flanked and against the enemy general, and then expect to keep them there (and not slaughtering your missile troops holding the objective) all game.
Keep'em coming!

You know Kiwidru, I didn't even think of it like that!
I used to be in the mindset that not dying is pretty good, but lately I've been thinking more about hitting hard.
Thank you for refreshing my outlook on these guys. It's like the Swordsmen...they don't hit hard, but they do try and survive!

Great work again, MrBorges. I personally prefer small games to larger ones - all of my friends and I are married or in long-term relationships or otherwise having our life ruined my women in some other way, so it's preferable to play a smallish game to completion rather than a massive game and have to call it early.

Nice little report here. That Gyrocopter certainly showed you who's boss eh! I don't have the Dwarf book unfortunately, but are the Gyrocopter's attacks considered flaming? Could've been a tasty way to clear the tower.

What did you think of the scenario itself? It's been quite controversial since it arrived.

The gyro's attacks actually aren't flaming. The steam gun is really just a steam-powered, rapid firing gun. So it's not really spitting fire or hot steam, though most assume it does.

Ahh that's interesting, I didn't know that! I had assumed it was a gout of steam that it fired - as you said.
