I've been driving myself crazy over this for weeks now. My tanks are painted in a desert scheme and I really like how they look, but I cannot for the life of me find a good scheme for my Cadians to go along with them. They're currently painted up in the default green/tan Cadian scheme and I'm utterly sick of it, so I've come here to ask what a good colour combination would be for desert themed Cadians. Specifically, I'd like to hear any ideas regarding the colour of the cloth, armour, weapons, everything.

Not a bad idea.

okay, so stick with the same base color... I would reccomend somthing like a tigerstripe of the brown and green, but im really not certain what green that is. I think thats.... oh geeze, im hoping my memory is right, scorched brown. Just be sure to work only at one angle.

you will also have to probably add a black or a different type of tan outlining to the tigerstripes...

sorry for links, but something between the following is what i think you should emulate on your guardsmen, using the tank scheme (or, perhaps similar colors, as the tanks dont technically have to be from same regiment as infantry unless you are running a grennadier list)

Actually, another simple thing. Just give them khaki, edged in that green, and then do their armor in a much darker tan, or that brown up there. Simple, but avoids the pain-staking risk of possibly fiddling with the camo till its perfect. I will try to do a test model sometime in the next few days to show you what i mean.

I think your pattern is perfectly fine, I wouldn't use green on a desert pattern. Whites, greys, tans, browns, and possibly small amounts of black work well.

Cheers,

I don't mind that green, it's pale enough to fit an semi-desert camo scheme ok.

Try doing a few test models to see how they look. The question with any infantry camo scheme is how similar to make it to the vehicle equivalent. Personally I'd try the same pattern but around half as big.

i would suggest using that scheme but replacing the green with a yellowy sand colour, that would look suitable desert-camo like

I think light grey fatigues and ochre armour would look really good. But then again I am just talking about straight colours, not camo, so maybe not what you're looking for.

Brown armor with grey fatigues is excellent, and if you need to add in camo on the fatigues--a few dots of white and olive drab would do wonders.

Hm, all very solid ideas! Gray fatigues and brown armour sounds particularly interesting. I'll have to do a few test models, thank you all for your input. If any other ideas come to mind, please post them here.
