Has anyone seen it? Thoughts?

Oh, and by the way, SPOILERS!

I quite enjoyed the movie. Sure it had some terrible, terrible comic relief, but most of it was really awesome.
On one hand, The scene with Deep Wang was utterly destroyed by the thrice damned comic relief, but It had tones of potential.
One of the reasons I think I enjoyed it so much is because I had abosolutly NO hopes for the flick, and when it revealed itself to be a decent film
It gave the illusion that it was much better.

I think I might download and edit out the parts that bothered me.

Also Transformers 2 doesn;t exist, it's just a rumor, like the Slender Man, or High Lander 2.

Ironic, cause without RoF the plot of DoM is impossible

I actually thought it was really pathetic (though Deep Wang was hilarious). So many WTF moments especially towards the end. Like:

Spoiler:
Since when did decepticons start taking prisoners? I always counted them in the kill first ask later crowd. They certainly didn't have a problem killing on site before. More important since when does Sound Wave take orders from humans?

Spoiler:
What up with the mass of Army guys waiting at the base of the building after NEST and the SEALs cross the bridge? What were they doing this whole time taking a bathroom break? How'd they get there...

Spoiler:
If shutting the master pillar off causes a chain reaction that creates a black hole like thing, why did it happen the second time and not the first?

Spoiler:
Best of all: What's the point of the first two movies if this was the plan all along? And how could Megatron know Prime would get the matrix in RoF when he made this wacky scheme with Sentinel decades prior and that the Fallen would be killed? Hell, why did he make this plan in the first place if the Fallen was just gonna blow up the Earth for Energon to begin with? And I thought he came to Earth looking for the All Spark (I'll also add that Megraton ended up on Earth in the 19th century, and Sentinel in the 1960's so... yeah)? Come on Bay. Get some consistency

So many scenes in the movie were completely unnecessary, and Michael Bay has upped the ante from explosions, to explosions in SLOW-MO! I actually think the film would have been much improved by removing a romance sub-plot altogether and just focusing on Sam.

Transformers 3 was better than 2 but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Carly) needs to act more n pose less...

Exactly my point... other than appearance, there was not much improvement nor did the new actress/victoria's secret model add anything new...

I liked it much more than the first 2. There were still some bits I had issues with but it was a huge improvement. While there was still comic relief i found the overall tone a lot darker than the others- more Autobots got killed and there were a lot of scenes of Decepticons just vaporising humans.

I'm glad that megan fox was gone but it was poorly explained, there was one line about her leaving then it was never mentioned again. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley isn't an amazing actor but not so bad I had problems with here scenes

The 2 problems I had with it were:

Massive continuity errors as already mentioned by Lordofhats. I can overlook basic mistakes but this was really bad. Why did megatron even bother with his first 2 plans if he planned to rebuild Cybertron using earth slaves? Transformers 1 is ok as using the all spark is faster than human slaves but RoF is completely contradicted. Why try and destroy earth when you need them as slaves. I'm not so bothered about the matrix of leadership since if the Decepticons had got it they could reactivate sentinel themselves. Also the timing of their arrival is wrong.

The second one is more of a personal dislike but I hated the way the militray suddenly starting beating the Decepticons at the end. Throughout all 3 films they have been shown to far superior to human military forces. An army of Transformers shouldn't be worried anything we have. It should have been left to the Autobots to do the fighting.

Yeah, the military kind of did murder the Decepticons, but at least they kind of did it tactically, by sniping the eyes off the robots, and proceed to kill them.

The new lady is a massive improvement. Megan Fox just stood their, but the new girl gave Megatron a run for his money.

Yes, consistency is WAAAY off, but I think that Bay wanted to put as much distance between him, and RoF as possible.

Skid and mudflat, where are they? Their just gone, with no explanation.

Since the plan to destroy the Eart in ROTF was to use the MacGuffin in the Pyramids to harvest Energon by destroying the Sun, it could be that Megatron and the Fallen planned to rebuild Cybertron with THAT material?

That being said, I'm glad the new girl actually DID something with an impact on the plot. She's not JUST eye candy.

In the end, I went into this movie expecting nothing, and I came out realizing that it had succesfully entertained me with explosions, giant robots, and eye candy for nearly three hours.

They were racial stereotypes that were removed after much uproar.

However, Jazz was also the "OBG" in the first movie and was killed, as per trope.

Starscream BA? Please. He's almost been consistently depicted as cowardly, incapable, and foolish. Only a few times in the various spin offs is Starscream worthy of being BA (Armada for example, and Beast Wars where the Starscream-esque character was completely awesome).

Seriously. If any decepticon was going to be killed by Shia Lebufermanguy, it's Starscream

What I want to know is why Shockwave was in the movie just to be in it. He had no purpose in the plot other than being there and his role as second in command of the Decepticons wasn't even mentioned (nor any aspect of his personality and character which is up there with Soundwave on the Uniqueness scale for Transformers).

I thought the film would be about Shockwave coming to Earth with an army of Decepticons, and disappointed in Megatron's leadership thus far, logically chose to take command himself and conquer the planet.

Would have been a much better movie

It has recently come to my attention that some of the special effects shots from TF3 were actually recycled from an equally crappy Bay movie called "The Island". I would say that I am disappointed, but at this point, I am just disheartened for the next generation of filmmakers.

That was because there was an accident during the filming of the scene for TF3, and an extra was left paralysed, so they re-used the "The Island" footage, rather than re-shoot the car chase from scratch out of respect for the woman who was injured.

Every time I see a new Transformers preview, I take a guess as to how much explosive, plotless disappointment it's going to fill me with when I finally see it through some other means (Because there's no way in -hell- I'm paying $18 for a Michael 'HerpaDerp' Bay movie.)

Every time, I find that I vastly underestimate Bay's ability to crush the human soul and destroy the fond childhood memories of the old Transformers cartoons from the 80's/early 90's.

I then go back and watch either the old movie, or the old cartoon series, and laugh at the fact that something originally made for your average saturday morning child audience actually manages to be better than a modern take on the same series, but rather intended for teen+

I enjoyed all three, I try not to read too much into all the story and plot points because that just ruins the experience for me every time. The third one was awesome, saw it in 3D IMAX and gotta say it was a real ride.

I was glad to see the humans playing more of a role in this movie

gotta say the part where sentinel betrayed them was predictable, so was the part where the autobots supposedly leave and get blown up but *SURPRISE* they didn't really leave.

There were some parts I thought foul, like the part where they get rid of Ironhide, that was a low blow. Starscream's death was well deserved and long in coming, so was Megatron's although I'm sorry to say that their dialogue wasn't all that impressive for the movie. Sentinel's death was predictable although I've got to say that the inevitable Prime versus Megatron battle was majorly anticlimactic, it felt like the writers rushed that part because they were trying to make sure everything fit into two and a half hours.

It was entertaining and in true hollywood fashion it snubbed fans here and there, but if someone can name me a movie made from a former TV show series/videogame/book that was 100% accurate or done 100% right I'd pay em money.

It was worth two and half hours of hard splodin, machine crackin, entertainment and ten bucks for a movie ticket, that's all I'm gonna say.

I've just watched it. It's terrible on so many levels. I hate the people in it I hate the dialogue and I hate what they've done, or for the most part not done, to the Transformer characters.

The bit where Bumblebee transforms, jumps over the wreckage, catches Lebouf an transforms back was pretty good. the rest of the movie is a turd.
