For me it's not an ideal list, for example the basilisk is to be relieved by a manticore.

Any more thoughts?

Where to start...

First of all, you have a host of wargear and personnel upgrades that are indisputably terrible. Vox casters are worthless, especially for units you have mounted in Chimeras. Bodyguards are terribad.

The great utility of IG Veterans is in their ability to take redundant devastating BS4 special weapons, melta and plasma. Your load out is... flamers? And you don't even max them out. It's all wrong. Your vets should max their special weapons and they should only take plasma or melta. Ever. Period.

This problem is all over your list in different manifestations. Why would you pair a sniper and a melta? A flamer and a missile launcher? It doesn't make sense. You want squads to have weapons that are mutually efficient for particular targets. If you split that utility, you are wasting points.

Sentinels are terrible. Especially with multilasers.

Punishers are overcosted and ineffective. You are correct - switch out the Basilisk for a Manitcore. An optimal loadout for IG heavy support is 2 Hydras, 2 Leman Russ or 2 Medusas, and a Manticore. That gives you a more balanced threat portfolio.

Also, Vendettas. Get them.

Well, in some points I agree (as in the wargear). The problem is that, well, it's done. I'll probably chop some things when I get home.

And then exchanging most of the infantry against veterans.

A quick respons to the sentinels and punisher: The scout sentinels actually works well for me. They've taken out tanks, hordes and MCs alike, so personally I don't see why people hate them.
Same thing for the punisher. It rarely fails. Ok, I hade one game when it died during turn 2 and didn't do anything, but that's the game.

And then the mix of weapons, as said, yes, that is terrible. Why I didn't max out the veterans is a mystery for me to (I have the parts). Although I'm lacking some plasmas and meltas. Those three in the list right now is all that I have.
And then plasmas... Good weapons, oh yes, but as a former SM player (that seems to be global) I hate them, only killing the shooter.

The bodyguards is actually working out for me, although they will be taken out when I need the points.

I've never had any thoughts of getting the Medusa, but now that you mention it, the thing looks quit good.
More ordinary russes is on the way atleast, so that's no problem.

And then, for last, the vendettas, don't like them. Simple as that. I don't really have any reason (more than the cash they cost), but I don't feel that the weapon-options suit me.

And a thing I forgot to mention, I'm working on an armoured list, with a lot of tracked vehicles.

Your equipment is indeed all over the place. Most importantly about it besides waste (platoon standard and vox's) is the awkward combination of assault and heavy type weapons. Stick with one. If you want a squad to sit and shoot, take all heavies with a heavy weapon squad. If you want mobile, assault and rapid fire weapons. I understand the urge to avoid the classic all melta/all plasma spam. If you are going to take a single melta in a platoon, you may as well at least take GL's for your other as they are cheap assault weapons with a decent range.

Second, infantry squads in chimeras are a bit of a waste, you have veterans who are also on foot, perhaps switch the two roles? Although, the chimera is a d*mn nice cheap tank, i suppose an entire list of naked platoon infantry in chimeras could be quite intimidating.

Third, are you intending to block your second platoons infantry or run them as individual units? what purpose do you see them serving?

Fourth, you are running a little low on anti-tank. You have a lot of flashlight fire power, but that wont do you much good once the enemy is up in your face. If you can find the points (and force org) to spring for it a Hydra makes for a nice anti-transport cheap vehicle which would flow really well into an eventual mech list.

Fifth, Advisors. I actually approve of the MoO, in a gun line he's gold. He almost always misses, but in 5 turns he'll hit something, and it will be hilarious and worth 30pts. (even if its your own troops) If you are going for gun line you're going to want to cover your flanks, swap out your body guards for an OotF. That guy can ruin a opponents day.

I apologize if I sounded harsh, I greatly enjoy non-conventional lists and am happy to see some of the more ignored weapons and units finding a place upon the table. Just make sure that you have a role you need fielded, and everything you field has a purpose.

As the others have said it's your wargear which is causing problems. Units like CCS and PCS should max special weapons and have nothing else except maybe a vox caster, speaking on the subject of orders Creed would make this army rock.

Your Chimeras aren't going to last too long. You've got two av14 tanks which will attract melta and the three Chimeras and that's it, not a huge lot of armour. No I haven't forgot about the Sentinels which like everything else have the wrong wargear making them overcosted.

Here's a better list but this one is pure foot:

HQ

Company Command Squad - Lord Castellean Creed, autocannon
Lord Commissar

Troops

Platoon Command Squad - 4 x flamers
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
3 x Heavy Weapons Team - 3 x lascannons

Platoon Command Squad - 4 x flamers
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
3 x Heavy Weapons Team - 3 x lascannons

Platoon Command Squad - 4 x flamers
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
Infantry Squad w/ Commissar - autocannon - sgt w/ power weapon - Commissar w/ power weapon
3 x Heavy Weapons Team - 3 x lascannons

Fast Attack

Sentinel - autocannon
Sentinel - autocannon
Sentinel - autocannon

Heavy Support

Manticore Rocket Launcher
Manticore Rocket Launcher
Manticore Rocket Launcher

Creed gives orders for what you need, he has 24" order radius and can issue 4 orders per turn plus a few unqiue ones. Lord Commissar keeps the HWT teams in check with his stubborn bubble, he attaches to one so he doesn't get picked out.

Infantry Squads bubble wrap the artillery and hide in terrain laying down mass autocannon shots supporting with lascannons.

Sentinels outflank to harass and get side armour shots, the opponent will have to deal with these or risk taking some damage which means less heat on your troops.

Manticore lay down the long range anti infantry and anti tank with the S10 blasts, on average you're looking at 6 large blasts a turn.

Total autocannon shots is 14 and total lascannon shots is 9, not a massive amount compared to some lists but better than what you have now.

If you do have points left consider Priests for furious charge counter charge goodness if anyone gets close. Btw I haven't check points so you'll have to do that

Thanks for the feedback! And I didn't mean to be condecending against you discountbarber, I just wrote in a hurry.

As said, I know that the equipment in the squads is crap and have a plan to get autocannons to some squads and lascannons to some. Long time project though.

And then, we have the tanks. Yes, I know I don't have many, but I might be able to get some more. There are in the local club about 3 ordinare LR, 1 demolisher, 1 hellhound and some more things that (including heavy weapon squads) only gathers dust.

For the voxs, well I don't know what I was thinking. Never failed giving a order.

The hydras is nice pieces, altough it seems that GW don't sell them from the homepage anymore, and the local shop barely has any IG stuff at all.

As said before, the manticores is the next big thing after the tanks in my local store.

Oh, and for the OotF, I kitbashed one just before I left home this sunday, just have to finish the painting. I made an experiment with a OotF during a game, and yes, it did a lot of difference!

And then the infantry, well, for the moment they just fill the holes in the list and is in the way for my opponents. I had most of them laying around at home. The great idea for those guys is retirement when I have enough tanks for about 3-4 veteran squads to be enough.

I don't think G.W sold Hydras period actually.

If you get more vehicles it would be fine, same for infantry. You're about 50.50 split at the momen.

To much infantry and, to that, a weak infantry with few heavy weapons. I know...

Well, they had a hydra on the ordinary site that was a lot different from the FW one. Basicly, it looked better. A lot better.
