So I have been thinking. Would an Eldar Autrach with a warp jump generator be able to deepstrike with a unit of swooping hawks? And would the opposite be possible? (Autrach w/ wings in a unit of warp spiders). And will he be able to skyleap with the hawks despite not having the wings but having a warp jump generator?

Many thanks.

As long as they both have the ability Deep Strike then they can both Deep Strike together. No idea about Skyleap.

Forgive me, it appears my post is irrelevent. Whilst searching through my codex looking for the answer, I have found it. Warp Spiders require an Exarch power to do it, and Swooping Hawks have to deploy on turn one, but can instantly be removed from play and then deep strike in the subsequent turn.

My apologise.

EDIT: it is still ambiguous however as to whether or not the Autrach can deepstrike with the warp spiders if he has wings.

According to the FAQ:

The unit may only Skyleap if the Autarch has wings.

Edit: I'm too slow :(

Not exactly true

in 5th edition ALL jump infantry can Deep Strike (regardless of whatever other rules they have).

The Warp Spider Exarch Power is redundant.

Deadly - as above, look in your book for Jump Infantry, and note ALL JI (or move as JI) can deepstrike.

As long as you can "deepstrike" you can do so attached to a DS unit, no matter how they are arriving.

Additionally, per pg 35 of Eldar Codex:
Swooping Hawk Wings A model with Swooping Hawk wings...may use the Deep Strike rules to deploy in missions that allow it. (section removed for irreelavancy)
If an Autarch has Swooping Hawk wings (and mission allows DSing, he may DS with Warp Spiders (or vice versa). As an eldar player, however I would say no to being able to Skyleap without the Wings. However there is no basis for this other than "feel" of how the rules are.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
