Well Dungeon Siege III was recently released, and DAMN it's good! I love it. There are some majorly obnoxious quirks to the game, but first I want to highlight the good stuff:
Highlights:
~The combat system allows you to press the space bar with forward or backward to dodge incoming attacks. This makes the click-fest of western-RPGs a little more engaging.
~Use of skills uses focus points which are regained by attacking enemies.
~You of course have the multiple choice dialogue which can influence you're party members; however it does not go by a good/evil alignment scale. The choices in dialogue that your party members respond well too are not as obvious as "blue means good, red means evil". Throughout the game you will figure out your party member's personality and what he/she agrees with. I have learned that Anjali agrees with me when I choose the harsh, but fair punishment for a crime, or simply standing up for the virtue of justice.
~In the game you have one party member with you and are free to switch amongst 3 different members whenever you choose. This game is a dungeon-crawler much like Diablo, so having only one member with you keeps the game fair, yet challenging.
~The dodge system gives the game an aspect of challenge in the sense that when you encounter a tough boss fight you can learn to avoid certain attacks by dodging at the correct time.
~The LOOT! This is my favorite aspect of dungeon-crawlers: the LOOT! I love scavenging every corner of a map to find armor and weapons in the hopes that one of 'em will be good. You get better equipment quite often if you spend time on the side quests.
~Side quests. There are plenty of them, but not too much as too where you will become bogged down and lose sight of what the main mission is.
~ The AI. Your partners are smart, can DEFINITELY hold their own, and don't run into death traps and get themselves killed. In fact I find myself dying in a lot of parts with tough boss battles and my partner, Anjali, is quick to come to my rescue and revive me.
Minor Complaints:
~The damn camera! If you've played a recent RPG like Torchlight it has the camera angle centered overhead by default giving you a good view of what is around you. In Dungeon Siege III the camera is set this way as well; however it is a little closer focused on you and at times it zooms in because of a wall causing your view to be obscured.
~Auto Target. Now this is odd. At first it's alright and helps to stayed focused on enemies when they are moving around and jumping all over the damn place, but it gets in the way most of the time. In a boss battle I kept trying to shoot my rapid fire skill at the boss (which was a giant cave beast) but the character kept shooting off at one of the minor henchmen next to him.
~As far as I know I have no control over my partner. Anjali has some very useful skills which I have set up to be offensive, yet defensive at the same time. So I have to wait until she decides to use them.
All in all, it's a great RPG. I love it. I strongly recommend it.
If you have $50 to spare it's definitely worth picking up. Not only that, but Steam is currently offering a package deal where you will get the first two Dungeon Sieges with the third one.

I play the console version of this game and I highly recommend it. I’d like to point out that this game was designed with the console in mind so camera and click fest issues of the PC version are less apparent in the console version.
As someone who has never played a dungeon siege game before, the story is actually pretty good. The developers did a good job of making sure the story is easy to follow for those who haven’t played previous titles.
Gameplay wise, the game is good. There’s a lot of room for customisation and mobs actually drop useful equipment (i.e. not the trash loot fest experienced in Diablo 2). I’ve heard that there’s no new game+ mode so replay value might be an issue.

AH! I see where the auto target system comes from now.
I didn't know it was on the consoles. That explains the simplicity of the button layout.(not that's a bad thing!)
I'm also surprised to hear that it's good on the consoles as well. I don't pick favorite platforms, but I do have preferences for certain genres. I grew up on various PC RPGs and FPS games which is why I always buy those games for the PC. Racing, fighting, hack n' slash yeah I buy those for 360 without a doubt. Each platform has it's strong points.
Maybe since developers can successfully port Western RPGs to consoles this will mean a little more focus on RPGs. ...Um, except for Dragon Age. *shivers*

Played the console demo.
It's very good for an arcade game, one of the better ones IMO.

I tried it but have been having problems with camera rotation being too slow and aiming being clunky

Yeah, haha, I was scrolling through the characters when I first saw that. "Ok, paladin-guy, magic-chic, WHOA FLINTLOCK RIFLES!!!" So I chose Katarina who has a sexy eastern-European accent. Meow!
She's actually really fun to play as, especially when you get the Flintlock Fury skill and mow people down with a fully automatic flintlock rifle!!! I kept Anjali as my partner because I just didn't feel like changing. Anjali is pretty cool. And she has hot sisters.
Seriously, why does the bad guy always have the hot chics on their side?! Must be Jeyne Kassender's magic! Boob Magic.... I mean breast magic.... NO! Black magic!
Whenever I ran into the Archons (a race of perfectly tanned magical voluptuous super models) I was always hoping for the "3-way lesbian sex" choice, but it never happened! CURSE THE PATRIOTS!!
