My fiancee is painting Nalach, http://www.fantization.com/nalachevilshadow-femaledemoness-54mmx1fig.aspx as one of her demon prince(ss) of slaanesh, but cant figure out how to paint her sword the color that it is pictured in the link.

Any suggestions would be awesome and very much appreciated.

The blade itself looks to be achievable by blending from a mix of boltgun metal and a little black up to a bright 'white' silver (eg Vallejo Model Color Silver). Not sure if mitrhil silver is too blue. Would probably look alright.

The gold looks to be done after that - a pale gold (VMC Old Gold with a touch of silver in it I think would be close) with both purple and green thin washes in there too. Probably a metal (shade), wash, metal, highlight progression.

From what I see it looks like the sharp part of the blade is in red. I would base in Macerite red, wash it with badaub black, then wet blend scab red from the point to about half way down the blade. Once you have a nice blend from the really dark black/red to scab red I would wet blend from the point again with blood red and only go a little way so that it really pops close to the point. the Gold part looks like its supposed to be either gold or copper that is tarnished (the model isn’t really lit well in that area so I can’t tell) but I run a lot of dark gold on my models and I do it by basing white, then covering the area in shining gold, wash with ogryn flesh, then consecutive thinned down highlights of shining gold to bring the color back. You can also add a little highlight of chainmail of mythryl silver to the very tops of you highlights if you want it to look a little brighter but I like to stop with the shining gold. ( sorry for the misspelling)
