Subject: Weapon Destroyed Results on Vehicles with Multiple Weapons

Hello all,
I was thinking about this in my last game I played where I ran a Land Raider. My question is this: The Land Raider has a Heavy Bolter and 2 Twin-Linked Lascannons and is hit with a weapon destroyed result. If the Lascannon is the weapon chosen, does it only destroy one of them or both?
Thanks all!

Just one of them as the lascannons are seperate weapons.

It would only be one TL Lascannon. If it was multiple weapon destroyed results, then multiple weapons get destroyed.

It has 2 separate TL Lascannons, so only one TL-LC is destroyed.

Thanks all. That is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure I was not missing something from the BRB that stated otherwise.

To add:
The attacker also get to pick which of the TL-Lascannons is destroyed. For example, if the vehicle is immobilized with one of the side sponsons stuck pointing at nothing, the attacker can destroy the TL-LC that can find a target, effectively reducing the LR to a single Heavy Bolter.

I was under the impression that the two sponson weapons are one "set" of weapons... But I don't have the BRB in front of me. So on a super-heavy, EACH TL sponson weapon can fire at a different target, not in sets?
Does this also mean that on a LR, you can fire the OTHER sponson lascannon using PotMS at a different target to the first?

Yes.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie. |

Sam - there are no sets here; each sponson is a different weapon system, meaning if you move 12" you can only fire one TL-LC using PotMS

I can see how people could get that idea - you do buy sponsons both at once, for a single points cost. But there's no rule making them one weapon system, unlike say Dreadnought Close Combat Weapons with a built-in gun.

It wouldn't make much sense for them to be considered a single weapon system, given that they're on opposite sides of the vehicle.
