Hi, I'm an avid user of the very comfortable dakka gallery. However, there's a little question I have - is there any way to upload/fully view pictures of more than 800 pixels width without using the zoom? Like a direct link to the full scale picture? The thing is that 800px isn't exactly very wide for units of more than five models. Pictures that are shrunken down to 800px width usually are of lower quality (naturally) than the originals and honestly, I find zooming in and having to drag my "window of view" around a bit uncomfortable.

Maybe I just didn't find the link that lets me view the picture in full size but if there is no such thing, I think it would be a nice addition.

Not exactly in terms of casual viewing, but it is possible by clicking on the 'Recommended sizes' drop down box and choosing full size, then using the image URL in the HTML or Forums text box. The code in those boxes will create a link to the full sized image.

Originally it was not included as an option in casual image viewing to save us from being crushed by high bandwidth costs, but now despite there being other options to reduce bandwidth costs and show wide images, as a result that original limitation, it is locked in to that original design and would be incredibly hard to undo without either extreme bandwidth costs or loads of processing and development time.

Cool, thanks for the info. I never noticed that tab there or at least never thought of clicking it yet always wondered where the full size version of pics went. Very nice pics, Sigur, btw!
