All comers list. Don't know what I'm facing as far as the club I'm playing at. Any suggestions welcome.

So my thoughts on the Princes, one flies around and shoots, the other makes a mess of things up close. I would like some input here. What a about Soul Grinder, I have 1?
Bearers - Drop them on an objective and sit there, that's what they're for.
Horrors - Supporting the bearers and squad elimination. 15 shots a turn each is nice.

As for models I have access to -
Troops: 20 Bearers, 20 Letters, 20 Daemonettes and 22 Horrors(including 2 Changelings, one is a Baneblade tank commander converted it's fluffy and I like it).
Elite: 7 Flamers, 4 Crushers, 4 Fiends, 1 Beast of Nurgle (used him once, didn't like it.)
Fast: 5 Hounds and Karanak
HQ: Masque, Skulltaker (I have 2, one on a Crusher), Epidemius, Bloodthirster, Fateweaver,
Heavy: 2 Daemon Princes, 1 Soul Grinder.

That looks like a fairly decent list.
A few things i might consider:
A chariot for your Herald, it might be a bit of work, but it will really really help you out.

Dropping 3 flamers, it would be nice if you had more Fiends, but you don't. I just think 6 flamers when you have no icons might be a bit of waste.

Lose the wings on at least the bolt DP (if you keep both, i'll move onto this). 60 points isn't it? I would just take the risk and try to DS close enough. There your only MC atm anyway, so are going to be subject to most of the anti-tank fire your opponent has, so that 120 points spent on 12" movement just doesn't seem worth it.

Khorne Daemon Prince....fairly cheap, if you drop the wings. But no shooting, and only a 5+ save. Its just asking to be killed really. Problem is with Daemons without shooting, is you could find them doing nothing, if your opponent has enough fire power to deal with them when they drop down. I would rather find an extra 75 points for the Bloodthirster, he's a bit tougher and will deal more damage when/if he gets into combat.


I like your troops its a fairly 'competitive core' going by other Daemon lists. Only thing you lack is numbers to take out horde, which a large squad of Horrors or Daemonettes would be able to do fairly well.
I could give you an example list, but want to see what you like, rather than telling you what to use.

I can see where you're coming from with the Herald. My thoughts was to just dump him in one of the Horror squads. With Legion on him, I can dump a bolt at something and then join in with the rest of the squad on infantry units. I don't know that I have time to build and make a chariot + paint it before the tournament.

Here's a bit of a revision, let me know what you think.

Sorry for not replying sooner.
I like that list a lot more, i completely forgot the Herald can join a squad, i suppose that does make up for the lack of a chariot.
Can you take Fiends in squads of 2?
It gets you a second unholy might that way, which makes killing Dreads easier, and give you a slight chance of killing a Land Raider. But its then two tiny targets, which is unnecessary in kill points, but then again all your units are small anyway.

2 model units of fiends are terrible. you really need to take at least 5 to be effective (you will probably lose 1 due to shooting) and the remaining 4 only put out 24 attacks, 12 hits, 2 Rends, 6 wounds, 4 dead MEQ.

I wouldn't bother with the PB and I would instead take 1 more unit of Horrors. 3 Troops are enough at this level. That buys you 2 more fiends and then throw gaze on your DP. A S5 shot can glance AV 11 and the DP can fire 2 weapons at once.

Rodgers37 - I agree, I will be putting them into 1 squad just to keep them alive.

Calypso2ts - I appreciate what you're saying about the fiends, I simply don't have that many.
I have 3 squads of Horrors in the army, one of them is with the Herald of Tzeentch. Again, can't afford to buy the extra fiends, but I could throw Gaze on the Prince. Might expand the troop squads to more units, make them more survivable.
