TH/SS Terminators. After watching one squad of them shrug off all of the firepower that my Guard army puts out, I'm pretty well convinced that nothing compares to them, especially in Assaulthammer 40k.

Furioso Dread with Bloodtalons. Able to kill entire squads in a single turn.

IG Psyker Battle Squads. A flexible unit which effectively supplements the rest of the IG army.

TH/SS are ridiculous...

I'll take Sternguard Veterans everytime. Equipped with combimeltas, they can take down almost anything. Stick a Librarian who has Gate and Force Shield with them and they become just this side of invicible.

Venerable Special Rule means it only has a 11% chance of getting wrecked or exploded when penetrated. and a 44% chance of being stunned or shaken.

then it has Fortitude to ignore all those stunned and shaken results.

Reinforced Aegis for all enemy psychic powers which target it or a friendly unit with 12" to have a -4 ld penelty when the psyker makes his test.

Sorry to burst your bubble but more exspensive then Lighting claw assault termies, and also Black templars can get Furious charge with theirs for an extra 3 points ontop of a 40 pts model, Wolves just don't really have the elite power of other chapters in my opinion,
unless we take into account the funky awsomeness /stupidity of a lonewolf thats about it.

Deathwing Terminator Squad: 5xTH/SS, cyclone missile launcher, Apothecary upgrade, Banner. Plop on objective. Done.

Ymgarl genestealers maybe, because they can hide in a piece of terrain.and get those special things for assaults

If you're mentioning Terminators, you might as well say Black Templar Terminators as our guys all will have prefered enemy and a veteran skill.

Per the codex the exact wording is "treated as a troops choice". They are still elites (although taking a troop slot in the FOC). Just think of them as elite troops

There is no greater way to with your opponents than to destroy their "great" squad with a Democharge to the face, courtesy of Guardsman Marbo (just a "Sly" 65 points).

On the assumption you can get them anywhere without being shot up they can absolutely WRECK almost any other unit
