Yo!

I'm planning to make a couple of display pieces for some people as Christmas presents this year. I know it's a long way off but I'm a horrifically slow painter so I want to make a start as soon as possible and gradually build things up. Each one is going to be a caricature of the recipient so will be based around one miniature with maybe a couple of minor supporting characters. I'd like to mount them on display bases that will need to be around 4 or 5 inches in diameter - I'm thinking of a sort of trophy stand made of wood with space for a small engraved plate on the front.

Does anybody know of a decent place in the UK to get hold of these?

Thanks in advance,
8.

Do you guys have trophy shops there? That would be a good start, I think.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Possibly the cheapest way to get what you're looking for is to check out your local charity shops as you can pick up old trophy plinths for pennies or why not try bagging a wooden mug tree and removing the upright?
