Hi Ive been looking all over the internet, google searches and the like. And can not find the highest army requierment unit in the game. What I mean is certin units requier an army size of XXXX to deploy, like Abaddon who requiers an army size of 2000 to deploy. Is there any unit requiering more than him?

Shouldn't be as they seem to have been phasing out that restriction for a while.

For some reason im thinking I read that in either the sisters of battle or the space wolves book. That there was one for 2,500

The Space Wolves book used to have that but it doesn't anymore.
Some of the older codeci (Sister of Batte for instance) will have restrictions like that.
It is being phased out so it'll be gone by the time the oldest codex is redone.

For Space Wolves there wouldn't or rather shouldn't be one, I don't have the codex so have no real idea. For SoB it's 1,500 for both St Celestine and Lord Karamazov.

Basically it was for the special characters in order to stop them from showing up in anything but the more larger battles. I actually wasn't aware that there were any above 1,500.

Edit: Welcome to Dakka by the way.

Also im very supprized these forums are so active. Im going to come hear alot more now. Also any idea when there going to make a 5th ED Chaos?

Not sure on the 5th ed of Chaos... check news and rumours.
The old Space Wolves restriciton was something along the lines of you had to have an HQ for every 1000 points and i think Logan Grimnar and Ragnar Blackmane were 2500 and 1500 respectively.

He REQUIRED 2000 points to field. You could legally field him in a 500 point army now if you had the points in the current codex. As for the next Chaos book, it's rumored to be one of the first codices of 6th edition.

indeed, Codex: Chaos Legions is rumored to be the 1st codex of 6th edition(followed by the obligatory Vanilla marine update)

the current Chaos codex will recieve updates via White Dwarf to make it Codex: Renagades.

Oh so no unit that has a ''Required army size" is valid anymore. Thats cool thanks, Still kinda want to know what was the largest "required army size" there was.

its still valid if the Codex is the most current version.

so if the WH codex has a points restriction on characters then they are still enforced.

Sorry im a little confused now. First guy said used to be Required but your saying it is still required. I was going to ask the last guy where he learned this info from, because i would like to learn more. Cause 4th ed Chaos is to my knowlage the most recent printing of them. Which mean Abaddon still requiers 2000 point army.

it is required if its in a current codex.

if you chaos codex has this picture on the cover(the most current one, all others are old and invalid) and it says Abbaddon can only be used in an army of 2000 points or higher then you must adher to the rule.

Yeah, that's the late 3rd edition codex you've got there! For the record, hobby shops and GW stores will only ever carry the most recent edition of any given codex, so you can avoid this mistake in the future!

rather, hobby shops SHOULD only carry the most recent codices.

some won't get in new stuff untill the instock stuff is sold.

that sometimes results in shows being a codex behind(Heck, the local hobby town has 2 seperate outdated editions of the HE Army book)
