First of all I don't know if this is the right place so please move the thread if it's wrong.

So on to my point.

I have a 2000 point skaven army consisting of about 200 models +- and currently its a pain in the a** to transport them. Right now I stuff my models into two old shoeboxes. These boxes I call the shoeboxes of shame and whenever I want to deploy for a pickup game in my local store it takes 20+ min >.<

I have considered magnetizing the trays as it seems very efficient but I have no idea how I should do it.
And secondly I have no idea what I actually should carry them in if they're magnetized to their bases. I mean, they won't fit in a GW case because of the magnetization and I feel like burning these two dreadful shoeboxes.

So what can I do to make it easier for transporting?

Thanks for any help in advance.

As a horde ig/ nid/ marine player, I can tell you only the marines have a possibility of transport.
Shaven and nids have spiky bits, necessitating larger foam slots for even basic troops like clanrats or termagants.
Shoebox of shame or 10 foam trays in a "backpack of burden"?

I personally use tupperware containers and chuck the different units of 30 gants into their own Tupperware, which then go
Into a moving box. Of shame.

Next time play a woc army, I suppose.

Well my Skaven don't have that many spiky bits, just this one unit of spearmen. The other Clannies have HW's, do you think it would work if I glued a small magnet under each clanrats base and glued on a sheet of non-rusting metal that the magnets can attatch to, under the movement tray? Or on top of it. I guess it doesn't really matter.

What opinions do you have on the magnetizing? I know it'll be kind of pricy but I'll just have to endure I guess.

rainbow dashing to your side

what I would do is mag them to trays and then put them into mini boxs then one big box

or, you know, its skaven right. cram them into a small box filled with crap and they'll feel right at hope and thus fight better

my little space marine army, now 20% cooler http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/424613.page

Thats brilliant.

Instead of that, a cheaper option would be Fridge magnets.
Not sure how available they are over there but here you can go to the local real estate office and they have 4X6" magnet sheets. Cut out some of those and that would look pretty cool. Only problem would be transporting the huge piece of metal, unless you put the movement trays into the shoebox...

BTP does this, and they use metal plates that go under the plastic movement trays, and then washers under the figs. Then you just need about 4 strong magnets to turn the whole metal plate into a magnet that will hold the washers.
