Secondly you need to drop 5 points for this list to be a 1500 point list

As for the list, it's good. Pretty solid, nothing strikes me as being wrong but then again nothing strikes me as thinking 'wow this list is awesome!'

What lore are you running on your sorceress?

I fixed up the point values and added the Lore: Shadow. IMO it's the best Lore for Elves, because literally every spell except Steed of Shadows is excellent at either killing or eleviating problems that Elves have when dealing with tough opponents, or you not being tough enough (by decreasing Strength), and even then, you can swap that for Meltkoths Mystifying Miasma.

I wrote the list to be balanced, so I wasn't setting out to have an awesome list. I want to have an army which people will verse again, despite being beaten (yes, I have High Elves, and after a game versing each army a person has they leave it at that )

Where do people get this idea equating balanced with unoptimized? The best lists are balanced (with a few exceptions) because they cover all of your bases. That said, your list is ok with nothing outright wrong except that you have a Champion in your Crossbowmen block that will not do anything. Swap him for a Musician and you'll both be at the correct point limit and improve the unit. If you are otherwise purposefully shooting for a mediocre list, this will work.

Did you refuse to not bring Teclis? Are you only willing to run a single High Elf list with little to no deviation? Not really sure what kind of people you play against, or what kind of person you are, but them losing a single game and refusing to play you again is pretty extreme when your ENTIRE player base has ousted you.

I don't take Teclis, but I do take an Archmage with Book of Hoeth. I don't mind playing thousand point games, so I can't take it, but High Elves are totally unfair anyway, and people prefer 1500 point games. I'm not a bad sport; I get seriously annoyed when other people get arrogant or have tantrums, so I try to stay emotionally detatched (unless its a fail of my own, in which case I'll laugh along) - this is what I aim for, I'm not saying I manage it all the time (who can?).

I concur that with most armies balance is power in its own right (Empire are a prime example). However most people can't resist raw power afforded by things such as Blood Knights or Dragons. The Guardmaster is 5 points actually, same as Musician, so its one or the other. Having said that I'm leaning towards taking nothing for that unit, as the enemy will probably have a more iminent threat.

This was a pretty write-on-the-spot list, so nothing's too great (having said that I'd be more that happy to use it). If anyone has anything I should include in the army, just post a reply!

List looks fine. I would drop the champ from both the CoK and Corsairs as 1 more attack really won't matter that much. I would use the spare points to get shields on your xbows, which should put you under points as well.
