So I bought a single Grey Knights Terminator off of Ebay, as well as a pair of Terminator Lightning Claws for regular Space Marines. I mostly just wanted an awesome model to represent a vanilla Marine Chapter Master with Terminator armor and Lightning Claws (I love that ornate armor.) But then I started wondering if I could also use the model as a Grand Master in the Grey Knights codex (which I just finally got a chance to read) outfitted with Nemesis falchions. Fluff-wise, I think it works; they seem to be ridiculously similar in function, as both are short, bladed melee weapons almost invariably wielded in pairs and known for the ferocity and speed of their attacks. My questions is mostly rules based; would a judge (or yourself) allow a model with lightning claws as a count as for falchions?

I would not be a fan. Maybe if there were no other falchions or lightning claws in the entire army.

But even then, it's a potential source of confusion. Lightning Claws are a well-known piece of wargear with well-known properties. And there's already a variant (SW Wolf Claws) with slightly different rules, to add a little bit of built-in confusion.

By the same token, though, nothing in the codex can get lightning claws, so there'd be little room for confusion.

I'd be fine with it as a result, though I think that the falchions look better anyway

As with all wargear count as questions, make sur eyou ask your opponent. Somethings they'll be fine with, others will cause confusion. As long as it's obvious/army wide...it should be ok.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
