i think im going for csm as a start to 40k. i have a battleforce but i dont know how to continue.

First and foremost get a CSM Codex. Then buy a Daemon Prince who is IMO the best HQ choice in the codex. Some more Rhinos are always needed. Plague Marines and Berzerkers have always been my weapon of choice and I recommend you use them too. Finally take Obliterators as a heavy support unit because I think they are the most stable HS choice.
