hey yall, i am presently in a DA madness and after completing my deathwing army, i'd love an ravenwing addition to the collection. I would like a speed army of bikes and speeders to stay in fluff so no dreadnaughts and vindicator etc ... I would love to know if people have list they think could go well because i dont want to buy models i wont need or buying too much models. all help apreciated.

You're pretty safe buying at least two ravenwing battle forces. That will give you 12 bikes, 2 speeders, and 2 attack bikes. If you want a 1500 point list you're probably looking at another speeder, 3 more attack bikes, 1 more ravenwing bike box, and sammy either as a speeder or jetbike.

That would give you Sammy, 3 typhoon speeders in your FA slots, and 5x 3man bike squads + atk bikes. That leaves you enough room to upgrade the bikes with apothecary/plasma/meltagun/powerweapons/etc

I am currently putting together a 1500 White Scars mobile army list here. Obviously Kor'Sarro isn't of any use to you and I do not have the DA book so the point values are most likely off, but it's the same mindset I think. I also went simply with 2 Ravenwing boxes (and will get a 3rd one next month) along with command and commander boxes.

The Ravenwing box also allows you to put together Sammael's landspeeder, so you could skip the commander box as well. On the other hand I believe Sammy on a jetbike is supposed to come out in Finecast soon, so you could wait that out.

This may be the last thing you want to hear, but seriously use Space Marines.
If you take Kahn or a Captain on a bike, your bikes are troops and they are cheaper (and with Kahn, can outflank) and you can employ other tactics, like outflanking TH termies in a Land Raider.
You can use ravenwing models, scheme , even use Sammael as Kahn if you wanted to.

This is not something that i would ignore but something I would avoid unless the advantages are vastly superior. Yes Kosaro Kahn gives outflank but Sammeal has pretty pimp bike tought avoiding the metal model would make me happy. (this is not the best argument but still)

I would like to know the differences in prices for the bike squads, attack bike etc.

For 3 bikes (1 sergeant) = 120
*3 + = 100
+ 1 attack bike = 50
+ 1 land speeder = 100
upgrades:
plasma pistol* = 15
1 melta bomb* = 5
power weapon* = 15
power fist* = 25
up to two meltas = 10 per model
up to two flamers = 5 per model
up to two plasma gun = 15 per model

(Sergeant only)

land speeder = 65
* each extra = 65
upgrades:
TML = 10
HF = 10
AC = 30

and the Infamous Sammael = 205

So after writting all that im like " ........ actualy ..... spacemarine + kosarokahn dosent sound that bad". But I would love to know, if somebody is patient enought to compare prices (in point costs). Thank you

Do I read that right? 220 for a 6man bike squad? Without upgrades? Good Emperor, that's more expensive than Slaanesh' Secret undies...

That is the life of the ravenwing. Over-priced for almost the same. Though they are fearless so that's a plus. I think posting the individual costs is against the rules. You'd be better off finding an actual C:SM at a store or such.

i dont think it is against the rules to post "small amounts" of the point cost of the codexe. Especialy when people on this website, can post entire list that can make you gess how much the stuff is worth in points.

And yes, they are very overpriced
