Hi,

I have some storm shields I was hoping to paint a kind of freehand cracked looking surface on, and I was wodering if anyone could offer me any advice on how to do this?
I searched around but couldnt find anything on here.

If anyone has iny ideas that would be great, freehanding isnt exacltly my forte.

You could always carve some cracks into the shield then fill those in. Otherwise i'd think a darker shade of your main shield colours in very thin lines, in a lightning pattern.

Highlight the edges of the cracks as well to add depth to it.

I generally do this by painting two thin lines (as thin as you can). One in a dark shade colour (a touch darker than your actual shading) and one in a light highlight colour (reverse).

Do the light line first, just under where you want your crack, then do the shade above it. Your eye will interpret the meeting of the two colours as the crack.
