How viable is it to give all of the Chaos capital ships in a fleet the Daemonship upgrade? I mean, placing the whole fleet anywhere sounds enticing to try it out.

It does seem like a nice little trick, though I think it would be quite expensive points-wise. Haven't tried it or seen it tried so I can't advise you much more.

Hmmmm...interesting idea. To be honest, I had to go back and re-read the rules for Demon Ships, as I've only faced them once and have never used them .
It seems like the idea would be pretty powerful, since it would allow you to have a lot of flexibility in your fleet placement. I think the extra points cost is fairly manageable in most cases, since Chaos ships tend to be pretty inexpensive to begin with. The biggest problems I think you would run into is that your precise placement would be a bit unpredictable, and your opponent would still have a turn to react and potentially reposition himself to take advantage of any poor scatters. Additionally, you run the risk of not having your entire fleet materialize when you need or want it too (you never know when that streak of unlucky 1's will hit!). Also, you would have to have at least one non-Daemon capital ship for your Chaos Lord, since he/she/it can't be placed on an escort.

Hmm, what about a half and half fleet? A cluster of ships that are closing that start deployed and a daemon cluster that can come in later traversing behind the enemy?

Again, it could work, there is just a lot of uncertainty and risk that needs to be accounted for. In fact, half and half makes it more likely that your opponent could concentrate all of his firepower on just a portion of your fleet at a time, which would be bad for obvious reasons . On average, I think it would do fine. It's just those outlying poor dice days you have to watch out for, as always!
One thing I forgot to mention in my last post is scenarios; an all-demon fleet isn't going to perform well in Planetary Assault and Exterminatus missions. This probably won't pose a problem since these scenarios tend to be pretty rarely played from what I've seen, but YMMV.

One thing that I was thinking was using Mark of Slaanesh with the demons, for placing them directly behind or in front of the enemy fleet's line. This way, for the turn that they have to react, they'd be at -3 Ld if they'd have to conduct any special turns.
I'll try it out and figure it out whether having a full fleet being Daemon or not. But being able to heal yourself while off the map then being placed again in a horrible spot for your opponent seems worth the 25 pt upgrade for each cruiser.

Actually, its only 20 for normal cruisers, 25 for heavy. And I agree that it is a pretty reasonable price for the extra abilities. Although if your opponent does enough damage before you disappear from the table, they might always just choose to disengage while you are in the warp and win by VP.
