Chimera 55 points
multi laser s6 ap6
HB s5 ap4
trans cap 10
if in CC is dead (pretty much)
Sentinel
multi laser s6 ap6
can attack in close combat
same armor (12 10 10)
so why have the armored sentinel?
it's the same points and has the same weapon but not a HB
It has no trans cap but it can attack in CC at s5 i3 but with its armor a couple grots could beat it so why is it the same points as the chimera! some one please enlighten me!

I've used Armoured Sentinels with plasma cannons to fairly decent effect. Also, grots can't beat them in CC unless grots are S6 for some reason.

Because you can take 3 in a squadron for one FOC slot and one killpoint, and so you can mount alternate weapons. Also they're smaller and can fight in hand to hand, albeit not too well. They're great for tying up any unit without ample power fist support.

You're comparing apples and oranges. It's like asking why would anyone take a Khorne Bezerker over a Plague Marine; they both perform completely different roles and as such can't be compared simply by looking at stats/loadout.
I really don't see the point in this thread...
