Ive been a fan/avid player of 40k for awhile but i decided to jump into warmachine fairly violently played my first game with my battlegroup (cryx) got stomped but i want to add a bit more points to the table what is a fairly decent sized game, but without losing the im still learning please dont hurt me to much phase?
Ive stated i have the battle box with denny a slayer two deathrippers 1 defiler i purchased a reaper as well would it be smarter of me to look for more units/solos
or continue with mass jacks?
I realize cryx has some fairly fast units that can move behind or around but what would be the best way to employ them with out losing the integrity of the group or getting them cut off?

I would stick to 15-25pt games to get a better feel of rules, what each unit does, and the general flavor of the game.
If your friends are also starting with battle boxes you can have everyone try out a proper 15pt list since the boxes range from 11-15pts with some armies meeting very bad matchups.
Standard go-to units for pDenny? Siren, Skarlock, bane thralls with command, bane lord tartarus. That coupled with what you own should get you a solid 25pt list. You couldn't include everything, but you don't need three arc nodes with the Skarlock.

I would also look into Mechanithralls - they can be deadly on her feat turn. Plus their incredibly cheap.

Mech thralls don't have a feat. When pDenny Feats they can actually put a good dent into something.
Warwitch sirens do a variety of things, and are very flexible. I don't play cryx so i don't know offhand. Perhaps you should look at buying the Faction of Book? That may answer most of your questions.

Warwitches are a very flexible Solo for a mere two points. They can give a free focus to a Jack that doesn't already have a focus on it, she can undisrupt a Jack, gets a free casting of Venom (same as Denny spell), can't be hit with free strikes, has Shadowbind and Seduction, and a few other nifty things. Overall a very handy Solo for Warcasters who like to keep their own Focus.
What you may want to do is read over Battle College Cryx entries since they have a nice unit-by-unit description of the army. It is not a replacement for cards, playing experience, or asking questions online but it at least gives you a nice overview of each unit. Because they have a breakdown of every unit in the game, it is especially helpful to write down what your opponent brought in their list and look up everything after your games. Not to suggest your opponent did anything shady, but it gives you a better knowledge of things you come against and you can put the model description in line with how your opponent used them to see what abilities go with a gameplay setting.
