so, heres my beef. I get that its design is to battle greater demons, and that they wanted to use marines that had not been damaged in combat. got that.

but why strap the GK to the front? why not remove the artificier armor and let his black carapace fuse him to the dreadknight chassis? that would pretty much make him a MC for sure and get rid of the whole walker MC discussion.

then there is the dreadnaughts themselves. wouldn't this be the equivelant of the Contemptor Dread? in which case, the occupant would still most likely be for all intents and purposes, entombed. and couldn't we then use the contemptor rule set for it? why not make the stats the same? the contemptor IS a walker and not an MC.

I like the model, but strapping the marine to the front is gonna go on mine when I build it.

your thoughts? would love to hear them.

Why not. He's in fricken Terminator armor. Not artificer armor. Termys can get stepped on by Titans and jump into plasma furnaces. They are mini mecha.

So he's mini mecha strapped to bigger mecha. Makes perfect sense to me. Easy to get in and out of in cumbersome armor if you just have to buckle in rather then open a cockpit and get situated. Also Grey Knights are expensive to train. Having pilot easily be able to eject is a good thing.

I like the Contemptor dreadnaught because the pilot is not wounded its just a fully body armor that is more well armored than a dreadknight.

thats pretty much my point. the pilot of a Dreadknight is not wounded either. which begs the question, why to 2 different styles?

truer workds have never been spoken.

so lastly then, if one were to convert a dreadknight, using a wounded GK dread encasement, would it become a walker at that point and have the same play value as a Contemptor?

seeing as how it is now pretty much the entombed soldiers will piloting the machine.

really makes the whole MC/walker argument backwards on this.
