I've been using GW mechrite and blood red, and i want to use a better covering and brighter paint. Will reaper HD brilliant red work? i have a war walker hull partially in blood red, should i leave it and use it, knowing it may be slightly different color, strip it and repaint with extra effort and a stinky model, or just paint over it.

I have no experience with Reaper paints or the high density ones like Brilliant Red you're talking about, but if I'm not mistaken that line's whole schtick is having really good coverage. You're best off just painting over the existing red you have - no sense stripping it unless you're painting with stupidly thick layers of paint.

I'm with SRM. No experience with Reaper paints, but it's worth a shot. Reds seem to be a finicky bunch, in general, so finding a good brand is a worthwhile search (let us know if you do!). Regardless, you should be fine painting over the old base, provided you haven't already built up a thick or uneven coat. It's unlikely any two reds are going to be so vastly different that an undercoat a few layers down is going to seriously tint the topcoat.
