The updated FAQ on Orks have rekindled my slumbering Orks spirits. After making some arrangement, I'll be having 3 armies to be fought throughout the weekend: DE (the usual venom-poison spam), SW (the usual misile & TWC spam), & Ravenguards (the usual infiltrating Assault Termies spam)...Bring it on!!

So here is the list that I'm going to use (1750pts)...


HQ
1. Ghazghkull Thrakka
2. Mad Dokk Grotsnik

TROOPS
1. 5 Meganobz: Cybork Bodies, 2 Kombi Shoota-Skorchas, Transport: basic Trukk

2. 10 Ork Boyz: Sluggas & cc weapons, Nobz with PK & Bosspole


ELITES
1. 5 Meganobz: Cybork Bodies, 2 Kombi Shoota-Skorchas, Transport: basic Trukk

2. 15 Kommandos: Cybork Bodies, 2 Burnas, Nobz with PK & Bosspole, Snikrot.


HEAVY SUPPORTS
1. Looted Wagon: Boomgun, 1 Big Shoota, 'Ardcase

2. Looted Wagon: Boomgun, 1 Big Shoota, 'Ardcase

3. 3 Killa Kans: all with Grotzookas


Looked very small & elite..just the way I like it..I'll let you guys know the results soon enough.

Wow, at 1750 almost 400 points in just 2 hq's is alot. Also, any saavy player is going to take a low cost/crap unit, and keep it just out of charge range of mad doc and any nit he's in, and with doc's special rule, he's gotta move at top speed to the closest enemy and assault if possible. I've done it to people, and as an ork player, I've had it used against me. DOc is a cool IC, but has that huge weakness to exploit. I do look forwad to seeing how this list works against de specifically, as they are the current thorn in my side.

The best part of Orks imo, is numbers.
Your going to be outnumbers by Marines at times, even terminator armies won't have a much smaller model count.

I know you say you like small and elite, but unless this works in the games your playing. I would seriously re-consider getting a small elite army like GK or Wolves, or Ba or anything other than Orks Or just expand your Orks.

For 220 points you get 29 Orks Boys and 1 PK/BP nob. Thats a huge unit, and with 3-4 of them, your getting quite a lot into combat. Especially with Ghaz with your 6" waaargh.

Even if you think elite can work with Orks, this army still doesn't look cohesive enough to me.
The Trukks are going down first turn, Looted Wagons are bad. The only times i've seen them used, the person using them has dropped them after 2/3 games because they do so little if anything. Kans are nice, but i would take 6-9 really.
Kommandos are good, cybork bodies are probably not worth it, its still only a 5+ save. Mad Dokk Grotsnik is nice, but all your doing is taking loads of 5+ saves, which are useful to an extent, but to be honest your wasting a load of points in something that only just increases your survivability.

If your lucky and the Meganobs make it across the board, they will be able to do some damage, so will Ghaz and the Kommandos, but other than that your army just doesn't look like its going to do anything.

Sorry if thats a bit harsh, i don't play Orks but i have played against them a lot.
