Hi everyone,

after I had to sell my army I am looking for a new army and a new theme to play. I allways liked the look of the Raven Guard. As you can see from the title I am looking for a list with a few drop pods since that is the style of the Raven Guard..

Obviously this list will not be super hardcore competative; but like allmost all wargamers I would like to win here and there.


First list @ 1500 Points:

Shrike 195

Tactical Squad 220
- Meltagun, Mulitmelta, Combi-Melta, Drop Pod
Scouts 100
- Camo-Cloaks, ML, 4x Sniperrifle

Ironclad Dreadnought 200
- 2x HKM, HF, Drop Pod
Ironclad Dreadnought 190
- 1x HKM, HF, Drop Pod

ASM 240
- 2x Flamer, Thunderhammer
Trike 50
Trike 50

Predator 60
Predator 60
Thunderfire Cannon 135
- Drop Pod

So the basic idea is drop the Ironcalds first turn and the ASM will get an alpha-strike with shrike. So if I get first turn, the plan is obvious. If I go second I can take the Tactical Squad and the empty Pod from the TFC to drop near my DZ. When his first reserves roll on, my two Ironclads come in and the ASM will allready be there. I found it really hard to make this idea work at 1500. I think it only really works at 1750.


So here goes my second list.

1750:

Same as the above but with HB-Sponsons on the Predators and a full Squad of Hammernators.

This way, Shrike can infiltrate with the Hammernators. On first turn, he splits up and joins the allready moved ASM 2" ahead of them. "Slingshot - engaged". This would give them a alpha strike with a fleet roll of 3+. So I would have 2 Ironclads, 5 Hammernators and 10 ASM + Shrike in there first turn.
