Might be a silly question/topic, but do the Ork strategies (Kan wall, footslog, Wagon rush, etc) see varying effectiveness at different point levels? For instance, does a Kan wall see a lot more success at 1000 point games as opposed to 3000 point games? Does a wagon rush lose effectiveness at low points games due to unit price, and see more effectiveness at high point games?
I've looked for discussions on this topic and haven't come across any. Would love to hear some veteran Ork insight or drop me a link if this is old news
I typically play large battles (3000 points) with my friend who plays Chaos and
GK. I've noticed, at least with
GK, they really shine at the higher points games, and are hindered at low points due to individual unit costs. I myself am starting to lean toward the idea that low point Ork armies should be footslog/kan wall, wagon rushes at high points games. The idea is that at 3000 points you can get the same number of kans/dreads that you can at 1000 points, whereas your opponent can vastly increase his anti armor capabilities. You are essentiallly limited by the force org chart, not the points available to you. Your main strategy capability remains the same. However, with a wagon rush, you can vastly increase the number of wagons/elites you run at 3000 compared to 1000, so since your main strategy can change with points level, wagon rush would seem to be the better strat for high points. At low points it just doesn't seem possible to get the saturation/redundancy needed to effectively wagon rush as compared to high point games.
