Yesterday, we had an Impromptu family visit to GW Warhammer World in Nottingham, we had never been before, so we were all excited about going.
I have blogged about it on our blog here http://40kbitz.blogspot.com/2011/07/family-trip-to-games-workshop-warhammer.html
There are lots of pictures of the day and everything we saw including pictures of my son Luke (who has just turned 6) first ever attempt at painting a space marine.
Pop over to our blog and have a read.

Those are some pretty impressive pictures, thanks for sharing!
And that Blood Angel was a pretty good paintjob indeed, I'd say your son has talent.
Cool to see that the whole family seems to share a hobby.

Nice pics! Sounds like a neat place. I love how it looks like your one son is about to punch the SM statue in a very private area

Thanks very much for the kind words everyone, it really was a great day for all of us, and were already trying to plan our next visit to play on some of those cool tables.
If you havn't been before and are thinking of going, then do it, and take your army with you.

Our last visit to the place was so impromptu that we didn't have a camera!!
Food was good though, and reasonable prices. Overall worth it if you are passing nearby.

Oh wow... Nice pictures, looks like you guys had fun!
When we were in Nottingham me and my boyfriend wanted to visit this magical place but we had no idea where it was.
Looks like we really have to try to find it next time.

Looks like we really have to try to find it next time. The map on their website is hopeless. The industrial estate is split into two halves with a motorway running through the middle, but they are signposted as the same estate. Thus we ended up in the wrong half driving around a cigarette factory. It was so frustrating, unlike most industrial estates there were no signs up anywhere to give a map of what businesses were in which units and nothing to tell you where the hell you were going.

Not even a genetically enhanced super soldier with a Power Armor 3+ save can withstand getting punched in the junk by a kid.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Sounds like a fun family trip! Wish we had something like that on this side of the pond.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
