Honestly I cut a lot of corners with these guys, they're kinda beat up and not assembled the best so I didn't worry about taking too much time with them. What do you guys think?

I have many more to go... these 15 old metal GK, 2 more boxes of the new plastic ones, one box of plastic termies, and 2 Dreaknights!!

Bump. These are a decent tabletop standard, right? Should I highlight the red with a little Blazing Orange?

They will be fine for tabletop, no one will complain im sure. The red does seem to need something though. The basing looks good.

Ya I put on the Blood Red a little thick. All the red besides the Halberd handles had a Baal Red wash. Someone told me the red makes them look very "plasticy". I think I'll highlight them tonight and see how it looks.

That looks really cool. I like the blue/grey armor.

Ok, just my few little comments.

I feel like the blue wash is a little too much. They've come out looking a little too blue in my opinion. I would suggest going back and doing some Mythril Silver dry brushing on all the armor areas. Also, the red on the one termy's face seems awkward to me. I'm not sure what to say about it, other than to go with the silver on there.

The red and the washed blue just doesn't really feel like it goes well together. I think the mythril drybrushing will help with that, but I see red in the GK scheme as more of an accent, rather than a main color. The loin cloth on the one, I'd rather see a brown or tan since it is cloth. If you want to leave it red, then you probably need to use some darker reds in the recesses to give it more depth.

I'd like to see some white on the shoulder guard. Most pictures you look at for GK, this is a spot for heraldry, but the blank red is... well... blank? Perhaps doing half of it white will help the look there. Also, the parchments for the puyrity seals and books and such. It looks like you just did them skull white... do a light wash of devlin mud and that will give them more of a parchment look.

When I've been doing GKs, I've left the handles of the halberds black and speckled them with some regal and ice blue, it gives a neat effect. The arm mounted weaponry, I've also usually done with a black casing. It's a more subtle look to me, but will still distinguish itself from the armor.

Just my two cents... take it or leave it. My biggest issue though is the blue of the armor... Oh, and your basing is awesome, I love that.

Hey, thanks for the tips! I just wanted to get these guys on the table, so I cut alot of corners with them. I really didn't know what to do with the heraldry, I may try doing half white. The purity seals you mentioned are Dhened Stone, and I agree they could use a wash.

But ya, these are old metal termies that I wanted to practice on before I started on my plastic ones.

Oh, and the red on the face was done because I slipped when doing the eyes. I figured since he has an incinerator he could look a little different. I think highlighting will make it look better.
