So, after alot of playing around in my Army Builder, I thought I'd get some feedback on my latest list.
I won't be playing any major tournaments with this list, as I only play with my friends usually, but we do arrange the occational friendly tournament and therefore I need a list to counter most of what they usually bring.
I can expect to face Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, Eldar, Necrons, Chaos Daemons, Tyranids and Orks. Not all in the same tournament, as a couple of these are secondary armies, but they might not play their main armies, so I list them all.
So without further delay, here's the list:
Unit 1: HQ: Librarian with jump pack (125p)
- Psychic powers: Shield of Sanguinius and The Sanguine Sword. (subject to change, as I haven't really played with Libbys all that much)
5 man assault squad, 1 meltagun, sergeant power fist. (135p)
Sanguinary Priest with jump pack. (75p)
Unit 2: 5 man Scout squad with Sniper Rifles and Sergeant melta bombs. (95p)
Unit 3: 5 assault squad with Meltagun, sergeant power fist.
Razorback with Lascanon and Plasmagun. (190p)
Unit 4: 5 man Honour Guard with 3 meltaguns, Blood Champion and Drop Pod. (200p)
Unit 5: Furioso Dreadnought with Blood Talons and Drop Pod (160p)
Unit 6: Furioso Dreadnought with Blood Fists, Magna Grapple and Drop Pod. (175P)
Unit 7: Baal Predator with TL Assault Canon, Heavy Bolter sponsos and Dozer Blade. (150P)
Unit 8: Baal Predator with Flamestorm Canon, Dozer Blade (120p)
Unit 9 & 10: Vindicator with siege shield. (2x155p)
This totals up to 1735 points, since I realized when I wrote this post that my Blood Talon Dread had a magna grapple too, for some unknown reason. So I got 15 points to spare, might give the scouts a PW or some flame templates here and there.
My thoughts on the list is that I have Psychic defence against Eldar/GK and tank popping capabilities in all infantry squads, plus power weapons in the squads that will most likely wind up in CC.
The Dreads and honour guard can drop in close or send the pods in empty depending on the army I face. I might have to play defensively, using my mobility to kite some orks/GK's around. I know the Dreads aren't that mobile, but at least they can take a hit in CC.
The Baals are there for a little Dakka(love that assault canon) and to zoom 12 inches to toast some MEQ and needing 6's to be hit in CC afterwards.
Scouts are there to give me some anti-MC, even though they will probably miss with the rather illogical BS of 3.
I thought about giving both Dreads talons, but I want to be able to smash open a Monolith(and other tanks) in CC, even though it's mainly for the chance to see that damned thing burn(faced a 3xMonolith wall last time, annoying thing). Also if I can grapple an IG tank through his own screener units and scare them of the table, my day is so much brighter allready.
What I'm lacking is alot of long range firepower to pop transports, but I'm prepared to adjust to that with 12 inch movement. Also I might need more templates for swarms.
Any thoughts on the list? At least on the choice of powers for the Libby, I have little to no experience on using those.

Here is a few issues I see with the army.
The melta Bomb on the Scout Sarg is a waste of points. That unit is not suppose to be getting into Close Combat at all.
You have 3 scoring units, and each one is 5 strong. That will not take long to eat away, and from there you are playing for a Draw.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie. |

Yup, agree on the 3 scoring units, but I don't intend to throw them away easily. Any thoughts on what I should remove to gain more scorers then?
I don't like fielding singles of heavy units, like the Vindicators as the loss of one is less disruptive if I have 2 or more.
And on the scout sergeant melta bomb, they will most likely sit on/around an objective all game, but if a single tank moves over to it in the final rounds to contest, that meltabomb might come in handy. Plus it was spare points, so I put it somewhere.

The list would work better if every Assault Squad was in a Razorback. I'd cut the Scouts, Honor Guard and Priests to take two more Razorback squads like you already have, and give a Las/Plas Razorback to the one with JPs. You'd also remove the JP from the Librarian.

Well, I kind of "need" that third drop pod to be able to drop both dreads on turn 1, cause if I drop a singel one in front of an IG gunline, it will get pummeled too hard to be able to earn it's points back.
So, how about this?
Drop the honour guard and priest, put the Libby with his units in a razorback with las/plas and then put a 10 man assault squad with 2 meltas in a drop pod so I can drop them onto an objective to create pressure in my opponents backline.
Keeping the scouts atm, as the likelyhood of seeing Wraithlords and Dreadknights is high in my friendly group.

Yeah, that might work. I get the need for the third Drop Pod. Personally, I'd run the Furiosos without Drop Pods, but I take Auto/Las Predators, Furiosos are my counter-charge while the rest of my army hangs back to shoot.
Hypothetically, at least. I haven't acquired the Furiosos yet.
