I thought I would start a project log for my new ork army I am slowly building. I have played 40k for a few years now but have never actually bothered to get into the painting side of the hobby till now and I have learned that I have really been missing out on a fun side of the hobby. There are for the most part the first models I have ever painted. I was a bit
nervous about painting models but after I started I thought my models looked pretty decent. I like them at any rate and felt like sharing with the rest of the class to get feed back as well as give others ideas for there armies and projects.

So far this is what I have painted for my army. I plan to run the army a bit on the horde/shootie side so starting out with 2 strong units of shoota boys was clearly the way to go. I wanted my warboss to be something that stood out and I figured using Ghazz as a base for it was a great way to go. Plus with a simple head swap it set it far enuff apart from the original model to count it as my own Warboss. I currently dont have a name for my Warboss but I am working on it. Now needing something to keep the Warboss safe and alive i knew a squad of nobs with there strong stat line and so many options was a great way to give him some bodyguards. Then to finish up with a few kans with rokkits for a little ranged bunch to the fledgling army.

The Warboss and his entourage.

The Boys and there Nob leader.

Close up of the Nobs.

Now for some heavy support! Killa Kans.

Love the Warboss! I have 500 points of Orks, but may want to convert into Bad Moons. Any suggestions?

Thanks =D.

It depends on what your looking for. Either trying to match the fluff on the table table or by looks which I can try and help with both.

Combat wise from the fluff I have seen they prefer ranged combat. Of course flash gits are very very fluffy but do not perform very well on the table top unless you give them the right upgrades. A pain boy and the upgrade to make there guns assualt 2 is a must. One of there big issues is that they are a heavy support which is already packed full of goodies. If they where in the elite slot I would prolly take them every game. I feel shoota boys are very fluff for a bad moons army. I think for the elite and fast attacks I think most options would "fit" one way or another. I think Mega nobs would fit well since who else would have the teef to buy all that armor??

Model wise painting them yellow of course. Which I have found yellow to be very tough to paint but I found a way that I like to paint yellow that still looks yellow and covers well. Adding any extra bits will also really help. Since bad moons like to show off what they have bought with all there extra teef. They very much like anything gold so mixing that in there as well is not to bad of an idea.

Just a small update. Friend of mine had left 2 tanks in his car for a few days and with this heat wave going on in the states they didnt fair to well so I was able to get my hand together and get them into something I could uses as a looted wagon. I had plans to make/use some of theses so it saved me a bit of money as well as since it was salvaged together it seemed rather fitting.

I dont plan to do much to ork it up. Add some extra armor plates and a nice bad moons icon on one of the sides. I thought about adding some camo netting but not sure if thats something an ork would really do. Even for something trying to be sneaky.

I am waiting on my plastic card to show up to work on my looted wagon. For some reason with the 8+ hobby stores around here non of them carry such a thing. I have put together a battlewagon so my Warboss and nobz have some wheels to roll around on. Small conversion in putting a big shoota on the front. I felt it fit more with the model since it will be used as a transport/AT missile. Plus i felt the nice ranged weapon bits it came with could be used on something that was alot more shootie then this.
