Start of my Grey knights army,

First mini I've painted in about 10 years so I dont think its came out too badly taking that into consideration.

1 mini down 26 left to go.

Any criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Need to do my Powersword, I also think the paints abit thick but any views and opinions would be great, just dont be too harsh lol

Clean off the mold lines first before you paint.

Try adding more than one colour, use a shade of red or add a wash. same goes for the gold, try use brushed gold then dry brush shinny gold.

One problem with white is that you will find its very hard to add shading to it so unless you insist on white I would suggest the normal silver colour with the blue wash.

Other than that its ok for your first time painting after 10 years.

Yea I'm considering switching back to the silver with blue wash.

The cold was painted a mixture of burnished gold and bubonic brown i think, then washed with sepia wash. didnt really turn out too well, I think this guy may be going for a bath in some paint thinner.

Ahh, so this is why you were late to work eh?

Looks good man, as Marth said old looks a wee bit off, but try maybe even a darker wash like Badab then dry brush Shining Gold.

Don't know if you really needs that bad, could easily salvage him. Maybe some writing on the scrolls as well?

All in all good stuff, for the first time in 10 years!

I think the white looks mint. I always start my whites with a grey then build up to pure white as a final highlight. I like that you haven't just gone the norm. Looking good, keep practicing and you'll be flying through piece of cake in no time!

Other than the moldlines.

I think it looks great.

I don't think the camera or lighting you're using is doing the mini justice.

Have a look at this video, might give you some ideas.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Yea I used that video to get a basic idea how to paint the models.

Going to try and take some better photos later on tonight.

The base looks really cool. Just a tip, you might want to use a brown wash on the gold and then give it a highlight. It gives the peice a little more depth.

Trying a different style armour, not sure wither or not to go for a bright white armour or something along the lines of these.

Still needs alot of work too it, only got the base colour and mid tone done. Pretty much painted the model Shadow Grey, washed it with badab Black plus a little blue ink, then reapplied the shadow grey to the armour. Gold is just shining gold, still needs washed and highlighted.

Pretty different to the standard grey knight colour scheme.
