I play orks and have a few trukks, lootas boys, burnas, loads of boys etc... My friend is playing space marines and is looking to get vehicles to give him an advantage as he keeps losing all the time.

He has:

Space Marine Captain
Tactical Squad (10)
Sniper Scouts (5)
Terminators (5)
Dreadnought (1)
Devestators (5)
Attack bike (1)
Drop pod (1)

Any tips on vehicles and any other tips on the army would be great.

A Thunderfire Cannon, while fragile, is incredible against Orks. A Predator with heavy bolter sponsons and an autocannon will do well, and a whirlwind might actually come in handy. However, if I was going to fight Orks (or, well, anything in the game) I'd take a Vindicator. That'll cause instant death on Nobz, wound anything and everything on 2s, and blow up vehicles too. What are his devastators armed with? If they have heavy bolters they can chew through Orks. What's in the drop pod? Sternguard veterans can fire their bolters to either ignore cover or wound on 2s and chew through Orks right quick.

Really, marines have no shortage of ways to deal with Orks. Your buddy just has kind of a scattershot army at the moment that could definitely use more tactical Marines. 2 squads of tac Marines in rhinos or drop pods can unload in one area and hose down Orks pretty handily if they're armed well.

thanks, he's got a land raider redeemer and a rhino, which he has purchased recently, yet to make the devastators, i will pass the info on to him.

he does need more tactical marines, i think he wants to use them in the drop pod, to get shooting his rapid fire at my orks.
