Like, a system where you choose a character and a scenario and you have to accomplish goals with the character etc. And maybe you could give them a small regiment of about ten models to go with him? I've thought a bit about making up my own rules just for fun anf trying it out. These RPG's wouldn't be played on big Realm Of Battle sizrd boards though, maybe small spaces of terrain maybe representing woods, a castle or a crypt and stuff instead.
One more thing that came to my mind was wizard battles too, like wizards just battling against each other.

Is there already a system like this? And I don't mean like Mordheim and those specialist games.

Anyways, I just thought that would be pretty cool since I love RPG's.

Sounds like a regular battle, only you get one hero/lord/character and a single choice as a retinue.

Still, sounds interesting. The scenarios could be along the lines of Hero vs Villian, where hero has a few one use items, maybe small retinue, and villain has larger retinue. Something along those lines.

Yeah I thought so, like imagine playing in lets say a castle that's scratch built. In the castle there could be events happening like ghost ambush or skeletons attacking, traps etc.

At my local GW we sometimes do this scenario called Stubby Swamp which is played in a scratch built swamp made by the staff. Everyone who wants to participate in it can bring a character to play with and you can either band up with people or fight them. Also there are random troll encounters in the swamp, the trolls range from River trolls to normal Trolls, pretty much all trolls you can imagine. And at the end it's last man standing who wins IIRC.

It's really fun though, they have made some own special rules too but I can't remember them now.

so your thinking a RPG incorporating the Tabletop rules and models? in all reality its just a scenario battle with some special rules and restrictions with some little storyline.

there is a Warhammer Fantasy RPG system. i actually thumbed through it and i was liking the different tiered class system they used.

however this scenario reminds me of campaign modes for RTS games like Dawn of War and Warcraft lol. although it would be fun. i am developing some Warmachine Scenarios tiered to teach new players more about the game.

Well yeah maybe not all of the rules but I guess all the WS, BS, S, T and those stat rules. I guess it would be more of a scenario battle but I still like the thought of having your own character with maybe a few of his minions around him, fighting stuff.

Maybe I'd like D&D, never tried it though....

Well here's an idea. Make a sort of obstacle course, all in good humor like blood bowl. Pick a race, which gives you a certain hero with certain stats, and go through all sorts of hell to reach the end. You could go through swamps filled with slaughterfish (take an armor save each turn), suspiciously safe open flats (contest of who has the best M), the sharp stuff gauntlet (get pelted by rocks as you go from point a to b, taking toughness checks or stumbling), etc. etc.

check out the Warhammer Fantasy RPG system. its pretty sweet. it keeps alot of the Warhammer stats system so it should give you some ideas and fluff for scenarios and building a custom character. althought a custome Hero wouldn't be hard, take a base hero, lord, w/e and apply the changes and give them a name. BAM you have your own leader. give him a retinue of peeps and your done. just gotta be careful and make hime a model that can be put back in line for regualar play, or get into conversions/modding and create a custom lord that is purly for those special scenarios...

Oh cool, I didn't know there already was something like Warhammer RPG. But it seems like it has some kind of card set to it, it isn't a board game is it?

It's an RPG, you and your buddies take control of one guy each and react to the story narrated by the GM.

If the idea of the card mechanic sets you off the wrong way, you can look at the previous edition instead, that was a more traditional roleplaying game.

As well as Mordheim mentioned by Ralin, there's also Warhammer Quest, which is a little more like boardgame, it's got tiles you lay out and move between, hacking apart monsters as you try and collect loot and level up.

To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

There's Warbands, which has a campaign system and character progression. You can find the rules if you google it.

And you could always play team games against an umpire - there's a bit about in the BRB .

I think the materials are on the specialist gaming part of GW's site for free now.

Last time i played it my character was a Bretonnian Knight.

I Got accused of being a witch in a town.

So being a knight I demanded right to trial by ducking stool.

Since i was wearing armour i sunk proving I was not a witch, then strode ashore and gained 5 honour points and 100 gold compensation for the wrongful accusation.
