Hi All, welcome to my world of self promotion and self gratification, for the next several minutes your forced to pay attention to what I have to say.
If you think your going to be clever and spare yourself the agony of reading what I have to say by hitting the back button then your in for a surprise. I've taken the liberty of bobby trapping that button, hehehe.
Anyway, enough of the technicalities and on to what you've obviously come here to see, my work.
With Gencon a little over two weeks away I've been in the painting and modeling mood, in an effort to carry this momentum forward I've decided to subje.... I mean treat you all to some of my work,
WIP and projects for the future.
For beginners this is my workbench, don't worry its not always this clean and organized:
Unfortunately this doesn't show a 10th of the projects I have waiting for my attention, I have shelves and shelves of stuff waiting and I seem to be acquiring more then I could ever paint in a lifetime.
Next up is a model I just finished:
This is a Captain or Chapter Master in Terminator armor painted in Salamanders colors. If you don't know it yet I'm obsessed with both Salamanders and Dreadnoughts. The base he is on is a resin base from Forgecraft, eventually my entire Salamanders army is going to be based on this style base. Overall I'm happy with this model, the only problem that I ran into was I tried first varnishing him with a Gloss Varnish then I started giving him a coat of liquid Testors Dullcoat. The Dullcoat started to make the paint run and smear, luckily I was able to fix it. I'll go back to using Vallejo or Michael's brush-on matte varnish.
Next we have my current painting
WIP:
This is a game I picked up at PAX East this spring, the owner of the company was very persuasive so I bought a starter set. The game is I-48 Combat, its a 28mm Historical game set in WWII specifically in the combat between the German's and the Russian's in Stalingrad. Its a fairly simple game with an interesting and free rule set. The miniatures themselves weren’t the best cast that I've ever seen and need a bit of green stuff work, but overall I'm happy with them. They are pretty fun to paint. I'm going to have to do something about the green on the grenades as its a bit to bright, but the models aren't even close to being done so I have plenty of time.
Next up we have one of my current modeling
WIP:
Again we travel back to my Salamanders, this is a squad of terminators that I'm working on. Its a pretty straight forward five man Terminator Squad, the left most model is magnetized to accept all of the special weapons options in the codex. The only thing left to do before painting is to attach the Forge World Salamander Shoulder Pads. I have to say I'm very happy with the increased support the Salamanders are getting from Forge World since the release of
IA 10.
The last picture of the night is my other current modeling
WIP:
I have a lot of Terminators, specifically I have a lot of Thunder hammer Terminators, these are two of the
WIP models that are going to be the Sergeants for those terminators. Since I don't like Space Marine models without helmets I had to come up with another way to show my Sergeants. The solution, Chapter House Storm Shields and Thunder Hammers, the only downside to these pieces is that they are going to require a lot of work to make them look right.
Whelp that’s all for now.
Feel free to use the back button again.
