Hi again all,
this time I'd like to show off my just finished leman Russ tank. It is magnetized for the most part, so all secondary weapons are exchangeable and the main gun can be exchanged between the vanquisher, exterminator and eradicator cannon.
Because of the camo netting on the vanquisher cannon I decided to glue the extended barrel, so the standard Leman Russ variant is no longer possible on this model. But since I am only in this hobby for the modelling and painting that's not a big deal at all.

The painting of this kit was pretty straight forward and I used it to try out some of the techniques described in my recently acquired "imperial armour model masterclass volume one" book (which I can only recommend). I ran into some serious trouble while varnishing the model; I had repeated problems with frosting and that resulted in far too many coats of varnish I had to apply in the end. That resulted in very messy mud and rust effects on the side panels of the tank. I did my best to fix these without having to strip the whole model, with mixed results imo.
While I think it still looks good, I think it looked better before the varnishing incidents

Now for the pics, C&C as always much appreciated.

Other weapons options (not fully painted as you can see)
