why you askin? Huh, Huh!?

I was just thinking of a tactic for ork armies. I know that everyone uses boyz to swarm, but I wondered about building a less swarm focused army. Would it be possible, or even legal to build a elite ork army. Using nobz, meganobz, loota's and burna boyz and other more elite units instead of the tons of boyz that are usually associated with an ork army. Just a thought, any replies?

Yes, you can have two warbosses, two troops choice nob squads, three elites choice nob squads.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

thanks for answering. Would it be beneficial to build a more elite force?

you might have trouble in objective missions unless you take Grots or one unit of Ard Boyz to hold an objective down.

this would also need to be a very large game. 2500 at least if you diversified your nob squads(with just enough extra to get a few gretchin units)

also, no transports unless you dropped a Nob squad to get Battlewagons for everyone.

True, because nobz are stronger I would have to use this tactic in quite a large game. Oh yeah, whats an apocalypse game?

an Appocalypse game is a game over 3000 points where you and your opponents have chosen to play by a different set of rules(found in the Appoc rule book)

basically, no FoC(no minimum HQ and 2 troops), you can use Super heavy vehicles and Gargantuan creatures, there are special abilities called strategems which can do all sorts of crazy things, its also an objective mission.

Appoc is best played with 4 people and loads of crazy things(like one Ork player who once had 3 Battlewagons, each filled to capacity with Warbosses led by Ghaz)

LoL, sounds like fun. Could you use a stompa in a non-apocalypse game?

No. Superheavies are only for Apocalypse or a scenario that you and your friends work out ahead of time.

elite orks is rought but doable.

as melissia said. 2 warbosses for 2 nobz squads to count as troops. nobz cna be pricey so you will be fielding few models at all price points.

to work well you're gonna likely need to put them in battle wagons to get where they need to go. to get the wagons there safe you might need to get a big mek with kff meaning only 1 nob squad as troops. maybe another group of ard boys as suggested since you prefer elites mayb 1 trukk of ard boys with battle wagon of nobz for troops. then fill in with your other desired elites lootas burnas maybe another nob squad burnas in a wagon and then fill with fast attack of choice for points saturation

Problem is that unless your Nobz take 'eavy armour they still only have a 6 armour save. Giving them all 'eavy armour and taking a Painboy with each mob would make them tough but VERY expensive before you even add in nice things like Power Klaws.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.
