so i sent an email asking about: why dont the chaos terminators come with lighting claws, since its stated in the codex as one of their options, and heres my reply

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately we do not make an assault version of the chaos terminators, one reason is because chaos terminators represent warbands of veterans rather than the loyalist marines who are more regimented. We do not know of any plans at the moment to make an assault version but we have passed the suggestion on to the studio. I hope that this is of help and if you have any problems please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Their reasoning is pretty sound though... kinda...

It's really not that hard to buy the loyalist claws off eBay or a bitz store. all you have to do is shave off a few birds and you are good.

I'm hardly miserable. I take great pride in being able to cobble together what I need from what I have. Maybe I'm just jaded since I come from a college town and I have to put up with someone (everywhere I go it seems) shoving a petition in my face for some kind of action against whatever social injustice has gotten under their skin. It seems kind of childish to demand that everyone else take time out of their day to help you out because you can't be bothered to do the same amount of work that other modelers are doing. I dislike painting, but I'm not telling all the other folks on Dakka to write Games Workshop to make it somehow easier on me am I? No, I just keep my head down and paint my little army guys.

to each his own, but dont "assume" that I or anyone else can even convert half decently enough, because i know i cant, nor neither should i have too, when buying your models from GWS you would assume all wargear options would be in your box.

and I said do it for gaks and Giggles, im not demanding you do it. i posted that reply back from GWS because i thought it was funny.

If all Wargear options were in the box-sets, they would be at-least £50 and that would be a low price. You could easily just mix the Loyalist Assault Terminators or convert the lightning claws or just buy the pieces from a bits site. Also I suggest you re-name the title of the thread Why are there no Lightning Claws.

Seriously though, I think all options should be represented in the box they are bought in.

But I also think everything should be in plastic so it's all a big pipedream!

I think GW are moving towards this as a standard. Seems to be that the more recent releases have a greater number of options in them.

Grey Knights spring to mind. Pretty much everything you needed was in the one box for several different unit choices. Sisters of Battle are rumored to be going this way as well.

While it is annoying that the Chaos terminators don't come with lightning claws even though their codex lets you take a squad of them, it isn't terribly difficult to use the Space Marine ones in their place. Since most people seem to prefer the stormshield/thunderhammer loadout, the lightning claw bits tend to sell a bit cheaper on eBay.

Well he has a point. Shape up the grammar and punctuation, and don't aggressively react to things that shouldn't offend you at all. I wouldn't accuse someone of smartarsery when using sarcasm in the same post.

It is productive, people should realise if they are going to post they should at least try to put effort into the posts they write. I found it difficult to read you're posts, gawd just sounds ridiculous and its simple to write it properly and there is a Capital letter button.

i could get the Normal space marine claws, but thats not what i want, i want a chaos themed claws to go with my chaos army, im sorry if that seems lazy to you people but i dont do conversions, nor do i feel i should have to. Nor should i have to dish out more money for something i should have already gotten in my box

If its half arsed back dated products you enjoy good for you.

But i sent an email just to see what they had to say, because if something annoyed me, i speak up and not just be happy with what i got, we all pay good money for our products, i think we just deserve more.

I don't think putting 10 lighting claws in the box would be practical. Go and buy 5 Chaos Lords, or find some bitz, or make your own, it's the only way really.
