I have an Ork and a SM army, and my friend has a nid army. We also have another friend who picks up one of these armies to play as well.
We only really play socially, and due to our jobs and families, don't often get a chance to visit our local games store to play vs other lists (so having an awesomely competative list isn't a must).
That being said we are very interested in the game and would like our lists to at least be on target, and not totally stupid or haphazard.

Orks
HQ
Warboss - 'ard armor, pk, cybork body. 100 pts
Big Mek - KFF. 85 pts.

Troops
7 nobs - pk, pk & bp, pk & wb, painboy, bc, bc & bp, and 1 standard. 280 pts
Trukk transport - RPJ. 40 pts.(I like the idea of a trukk rather than 'wasting' ~125 pts of battle wagon on just moving a few nobs up the board)
30 melee boys, 2x 20 shootas (4 big shootas). All with nobs, bps, and pks. Total 560 points.

2 Deffkoptas w TW rokkits. 90 pts

I've tried to cater these lists so that they are good and without just settling for what came in the battleforce.

Very keen to hear if we've made some horrible mistakes etc. As I said, the lists don't need to be gamebreakingly awesome, but should be able to hold their own more or less.

What I'd do, is rather than focus on what's being put in the list, is focus on how to use what you have, effectively. Especially with more casual lists (and not only because I believe that asking any online forum 'how does this list look?' will get you trash-talked/advised by folks thinking you should go hyper-competitive cheese) it's more in how you play, and the smoothness of the game, than what you're fielding- or even whether you win or lose.

I think It would be more fun to play a game against a person who knows the rules like the back of his hand, and has a dozen little tricks that he/she can pull with any of their units, than to play over an over against a tourney-ready, specially tuned to be used one way list, like Leafblower or Green Tide. With the less polished lists, you'll get more instances of desparate last stands, foolhardy charges that miraculously work, and unlikely, come-from-behind victories.
