Hi, so i've decided that despite all the recent talk of abandoning GW, while working on a small Privateer Press side project to do a Beastmen army.

Anyways I have a few questions in general about the army and the game.

I have a box of gors. I plan on running them in blocks of forty, however the way I have my current ten built, they -cannot- stand together in their movement tray. Is there a certain way to build them so that they go in file easier? It may simply be due to the fact the Foe-render has CSM and WoC parts and is in a dynamic pose.

Secondly, what typically are the best units in the army? Or at least the ones tourny gamers lean towards. I want a solid core for playing with the tourney gamers before they leave to go play the big games.

Lastly, feels good to be chaos again.

I've sold so many armies. :(

The way i got around this with skaven was through numbers and color codes on the bottom of the bases.

Find an arrangement that works (fit and aesthetic), and code the bottom in some way Green Dot/1/2 could mean Unit one/rank one/second slot.

Kind of annoying at times but to have a more dynamic unit it works and is totally worth it.

+1
also something that works is using one base for 5 models

Is it possible for you to cut the feet from the base to reposition? I've had to do this for various units. (sidenote- because of this I use superglue to glue feet to bases because it breaks off easier than plastic glue).

And here you have come across the major drawback in Fantasy. It is mildly tricky ranking up even relatively straight foward models such as Skaven Clanrats with Hand Weapons or High Elves with Spears. However, some kits go from tricky to complete nightmare. Take a bow Empire Halberdiers, Black Orks etc I have actually abandoned armies for this reason alone.

My approach is to make up the models but leave both arms off. Glue them to their bases and set them up as a regiment (some models such as Skaven with their poxy tails present difficulties even at this stage). Next, model by model, glue the arms on in such as way that they aren't poking their neighbour in the eye. Finally do the base numbering as suggested above.

Have "fun"

EDIT - Note that not even this careful approach will work for Empire Halberdiers. Whoever came up with the dumb arse idea with having the weapons pointing forward needs to be poked in the eye with a weapon haft.

Righty, I'll pick up a batallion next pay day and see about making it so the x30 gors can fit snugly in a block.

Thank you for the help!
