Finished up 2k+ of Guardsmen. This army is based around the idea of a Rogue Trader slaver crew selling black market psykers to the Adeptus Mechanicus, who have, under the noses of the Grey Knights, found a new way of controlling them. Maybe. They hope.

Rogue Trader Counts as Witchhunters Inquisitor Lord, retinue, and Callidus Assassin.

Magos, counts as Primaris Psyker, Psyker Battle Squad with overseer.

Counts as Seraphim

Chimeras

Deathstrike.

Erm... I guess that's it! Thanks for looking!

Uh, wow! Seriously I love that Deathstrike tank. Very cool stuff.

Do you transport that whole display board to games?

My first reaction to this army was "Just a few voystroyans... riiiiight"

Second reaction was how awesome the conversions and painting were. I especially like the stencil work on the vehicles. Awesome army and I'm sure it looks stunning on the board.

I was seriously expecting one or four Vostroyan men to be honest. When I saw the table and the rest of the men I sat back in my chair and thought... 'Damn... Nice...'

Where do I start? I love the paintjobs on your tanks, very swish. Particularly the eagles on the flanks. Did you do those free handed or did you use a stencil? Otherwise, nice weathering and dirt effect.

I love the Rogue Trader and his retinue but what I have my cyclopean eye on are the Cherubim. I know I've seen those wings somewhere before... but the question is where? Also, kudoes on the metal effect on them!

Congrats, Fix, you win Most Understated Thread Title of the Month!

Really digging this army - lots of flavorful counts-as models and conversions, nice painting all around, tons of character, and an impressive display when laid out on the board.

Just wow. A couple of Vostroyans, eh? Great to see such a large force of non-Cadians/Catachans. And with a theme, too!

Love the weathering on the vehicles, would you care to share your method for the chipped paint and the mud? More weathering techniques is never a bad thing!

Thanks!

The eagles are a stencil I did up for a Sisters of Battle army a couple of years ago and decided to repurpose when I saw they fit the side of a chimera hull just so. Just painted them on with highlights, went back with the base color on a sponge to do chipping, and muddied things up with a Tamaya mud stick and some dusty drybrushing. The edge chips are brown over an off-white, for the oxidized look rather than the scratched metal.

The Seraphim are Iron Brotherhood by Micro Art Studios, unmodified but for a couple of arm swaps.

Love the soviet looking (ish!) deathstrike. great paint job!

The meaning of victory is not merely to defeat your enemy but destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavors, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory.

Guys, I think there might be a tank attached to that rocket. You have to look hard but it's there.

Love the paint and the fluff of this...but how do the deathstrike's help capture psyker? Good job man seriously.

I love armies with themes!
they give you so much opportunity to add characterful conversions.

And you sir have done that very well. This army has character.
It will defiantly stand out above the rest, especially with your superb paintjob.
