just bought a box of space-wolves and realised there was no meltagun,
and now my lack of funds stops me from purchasing the meltagun bits,

so i was wondering is there a way to convert a meltagun from the spacewolves kit?
perhaps a bolter and the edge of the plasmagun with gs.

if anyone has any ideias please share, perhaps theres a way to get meltaguns
without spending your coin at gw

That idea sounds like it would look absolutely terrible. It would still read as a plasma gun if you were using plasma gun parts. You could convert one out of a melta gun and some plastic tubing, but the effort required to make it look good would be best spent in just buying the actual guns from GW.

Well, on that note: if you have access to a styrene straw of the same size as a melta gun barrell, just drill holes into it, apend it to the end of a bolter. Cut off the bolter mag, cover up the ejector/slide, and add another piece of tube/rod with some strips on it as the fuel/ammunition for the melta gun. It will look off, but it will do the trick. Just be sure to use minimal gluing so that if you find this solution offensive, you can at least replace it later on.

This way you get to keep your flamer, which, I am ssuming may be your only one.

do a swap with someone in your gaming group. Swap them a plasma gun or flamer or one of the many other bits off the SW sprue.

I'm pretty sure there's a meltagun on the 3rd SW sprue. There's 2 identical ones with the claws and PFist and one unique 3rd. I'm at work so I cannot check by myself but I'm quite certain.

Maybe on the old sprues, but not on this one.

There is no third sprue. There was a sprue in the old Space Wolves set which had a meltagun, power fist, power sword, frost axe, a few heads, bodies, and other doodads. The meltagun in that old sprue is the exact same one you get in the tactical squad sprue now.

Huh. I guess my GWS still has old SW boxes then, I got mine last week.
