Should I paint them in sword brethren colors or in assault marine colors? And also, how should I play them? Should I use the rules on GW, the rules for the sword brethren, or the rules for the assualt marines in the codex? Thanks for any help.

Well I wasn't gonna play them as vanguard veterans. Either play them as sword brethren or assualt marines.

Then why would you use the rules for Vanguard Vets?

The Vanguard vet models are ornate and fairly badass. Sword Brethren makes sense... though don't the Sword Brethren have capes and such?

Yeah, I was thinking about making a conversion and adding something like a cape or tunic to the models, but they have soo much awesome detail all over their armor. Im not sure what to do about that, suggestion?
