So my GM for Rifts has a Lizardmen army and he does not like to paint, I love to paint and need to hone my skills. So he decided to pay me for painting his army. Since I still classify myself as a bit new to painting I'm charging him peanuts, just enough to cover my paint costs. the army consists of:

18 sarus F/C
18 sarus F/C
18 sarus F/C
12 skinks
16 sarus cav F/C
17 temple guard F/C
2 hero
1 stegadon
1 scar leader

I got the minis already assembled. My G.M did not know about mold lines or washing so right now most of the work is going to be cleaning up. It is going to be a bit difficult with them already together. He is looking for a darker theme with liberal use of silver for the metallics. After the 4 sample Sarus dry from washing I will be priming and starting to paint some schemes. Here are some pics of the army. I will update later tonight after I get some paint on the sample Sarus'.

Water has dried and so has the primer. Here's the 4 sample Sarus primed up. Starting to paint 1 now, I will update again in a couple hours.

What colors are you painting them?

So far 1 of the 4 sample sarus is base coated. I went dark green underbelly, purple top and black/silver weapon/shield. As soon as my batteries charge I will post the basecoated sarus. The other three so far I have not decided. Do you have any ideas for a dark sarus scheme?

A friend of mine used to do Lizardmen a long time ago. His scheme was whole body dark green with orange belly and silver weapons and gold shields. It's very simple but that's 'cause he was very new to the hobby and never gave himself time to develop but maybe the colors give you some ideas? The orange might be too bright, but the colors looked very nice together.

Looks cool, I can't wait to see them finally painted.

I was looking for a way to get orange in there. I'll do up the skinks with something like that to make them stand out.

Base coat is done. Still needs some touch ups but I do those with my shading layer. The green/purple is O.K but it seemed a whole lot cooler in my head.

I like it looks like a classic dinosuar. a good change from the normal blue.
