Hi all,

I just had a thought, here's how it came about:

Soon, my GW will be taking us to games day and they're hiring a coach and everything. Now, they normally do a quiz on 40k, fantasy and lotr fluff which is very good as it leads to frantic gathering of all codexes and books in your pairs. However, there's a problem in that in doesn't last for masses of the journey.

So, what 'm going to suggest to the manager next time I see him is this: Everyone brings one model (on a 25mm base), assembled and primed and you bring your paints and brushes and then go, while the coach is driving along!
Obviously the first rule is shut paint lids unless holding them!
The second rule is wash paintbrush in water like normal, but make sure it's bottled.

Anyway, when the journey's over, the staff collect in people's coach painted models and keep them to be judged. If this is done, I will try to get as many pics as possible compared with people's normal standards as well.

I know i could stand to get quite messy but hopefully that won't happen. Anyway, it's just a thought I had just now and it is midnight so and I haven't slept for a couple of nights so I may not be in my best mind at the moment.

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Painting in a moving vehicle is a terrible idea. You'll end up with a mess of poorly painted models covered in mistakes and spills. A painting contest between all of you sounds great, but on the move it's no good.

And who pays for the damage from spilt paint on the bus? You really think the bus company will agree to this??

I say doing a painting competition and play a movie and have that as the time limit or if you guys are really in the sadistic mood. Make the timelimit what it takes for 2 guys to finish a 40k game at 2000 points.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

No. All i see is disaster from painting in a moving vehicle. There are some people who have trouble painting while sitting still at a desk, one good bump in the road and its all over.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

I have an idea for a speed painting competition done while sky diving. They quicker you finish the sooner you can open the parachute.

A modeling competition where you need to juggle hobby knives on a highwire while trimming your mold lines can only be the next logical step.
